Jessica Teusl checked the 6♣8♣K♠ flop in the big blind, and Vitalijs Korhs slid out a bet of 8,000 from under the gun.
Teusl called to the 5♣ turn, and checked once more. Korhs continued for 12,000, good enough to claim the pot as Teusl slid her cards to the dealer.
Alberto Speranzoni opened to 8,000 from under the gun and Byron Kaverman three-bet to 28,000 from the next seat. Speranzoni called.
The flop of 6♦J♦J♣ checked through and both players checked again on the 8♥ turn. Speranzoni then bet 51,000 on the 6♥ river and Kaverman folded.
Anthony Zinno opened to 6,000 in the hijack, finding a call from Toby Joyce in the big blind.
Both players declined to bet on the 6♣Q♥3♦ flop, and Joyce checked again after seeing the Q♠ turn. Zinno fired 9,000 into the middle, and Joyce called.
Another check from Joyce followed the A♥ river, where Zinno bet again for 14,000. That resulted in a fold from Joyce, and the dealer slid the pot to Zinno.
Phil Hellmuth, the record-holder, is done winning World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, so says Shaun Deeb.
Deeb told WSOP reporter Jeff Platt on Monday that not only does he believe the "Poker Brat" will never capture his 18th bracelet, he also gave himself a solid chance of eventually surpassing Hellmuth.
PokerNews caught up with Hellmuth on Tuesday at the World Series of Poker Paradise (WSOPP) series in the Bahamas to get his thoughts on Deeb's comments. He took issue with what the reigning WSOP Player of the Year had to say, and suggested that "he was trolling me." But he then said, "he might not have been."
Steven Filipovic checked the J♣J♠J♥ flop in the small blind, Lazar Bartha fired a bet of 14,000 in middle position, then 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson called on the button. Filipovic got out of the way.
Bartha slowed down with a check on the 3♥ turn, and Jacobson slid out 24,000. That produced a fold from Bartha, and Jacobson collected the chips.
In a three-way pot on a flop of 8♣2♣J♥, Igor Paczek and Shaun Deeb checked in the blinds as Luis Rodrigues bet 12,000 in late position.
Paczek called before Deeb check-raised to 52,000, a move that brought folds from both opponents.
Deeb, who PokerNews spoke to recently about his claim that Phil Hellmuth will never win another WSOP bracelet, happens to be two seats apart from his Team Lucky compatriot and 2023 Main Event champion Daniel Weinman.
