One Hand, One Double, One Wine Glass for Negreanu

Level 7 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu just sat down with a glass of red wine in hand and wasted no time getting his chips in.

In his first hand at the table, Nitis Udornpim opened to 26,000 and Negreanu jammed a starting stack of 500,000.

"I'm in. Are you in?" Negreanu asked Udornpim.

"F*** it," he replied and called.

Daniel Negreanu: AK All in
Nitis Udornpim: AQ

Negreanu had his opponent dominated but wasn't optimistic. "Last time this didn't hold!"

But the board ran out a safe 107732 to earn Negreanu a double in his first hand of day — but not of the tournament as Negreanu is already on his ninth tournament bullet.

After the hand, Negreanu complained to table mate Seth Davies that PokerNews makes a fuss about his multiple bullets "while Stephen Chidwick is over there on eight bullets."

"But I'm the bad guy?!" Negreanu yelled before putting on a Russian mob accent. "WELL HERE I AM. I'M THE BAD GUY!"

Soyza Spikes the River

Level 7 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Michael Soyza
Michael Soyza

Paulo Drummond opened to 25,000 from the hijack, and Michael Soyza moved all in from the small blind for 280,000. Dejan Kaladjurdjevic asked for a count before shoving his larger stack from the big blind, and Drummond quickly got out of the way.

Michael Soyza: 99 All in
Dejan Kaladjurdjevic: KK

Kaladjurdjevic's kings were well in front, and maintained that advantage through the 342 flop and 2 turn. Soyza then spiked the 9 river, cracking kings to stay alive.

Aaron Mermelstein
Aaron Mermelstein

Aaron Mermelstein opened to 22,000 from the cutoff and snap-called when Matheus Lima jammed for around 150,000 from the big blind.

Matheus Lima: A7All in
Aaron Mermelstein: QQ

Lima had gutshot on the 653 flop, and picked up a flush draw on the 5 turn to have plenty of outs. Unfortunately for him, Mermelstein made a boat on the Q river, securing the elimination and chip lead.

"I'm a Flush Queen!"

Level 6 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Rania Nasreddine
Rania Nasreddine

Phil Laak raised to 20,000 from under the gun — stating "under the gun, qualify!" — and Rania Nasreddine called in the big blind to play against "my friend Phil."

Both players checked on the flop of Q7K and Nasreddine bet 25,000 on the 7 turn. Laak called. Nasreddine then bet 60,000 on the 10 river and Laak said "I can't fold, I can't raise, so I call."

Nasreddine showed 42 for a rivered flush and Laak mucked in defeat.

"I'm a flush queen!" cheered Nasreddine.

Aces No Good for Parker

Level 6 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Tony Parker
Tony Parker

Tony Parker opened to 30,000 from the small blind, and Hugo Machado defended his big blind to the 7J5 flop.

Machado checked to Parker, who continued fore 30,000. The call was made, and Machado checked again on the Q turn.

Parker moved all in for 164,000, and the call was made.

Tony Parker: AA All in
Hugo Machado: J7

Machado turned over his flopped two pair, and Parker could not improve on the 4 river. That sent Parker to the rail, but a reentry had him at a new table shortly after.

Guillaume Genin: A9 All in
Ari Engel: QJ

Middleton Doubles Through Hissou; Pot for Hrabec

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sirzat Hissou
Sirzat Hissou

Tom Middleton, from under the gun, and Sirzat Hissou, on his direct left, exchanged raises preflop that saw the former all-in for his last 455,000 with Hissou the covering stack.

Tom Middleton: QQAll in
Sirzat Hissou: AxKx

Hissou picked up two outs to Broadway to go along with his overcards after the J106 flop, but MIddleton held out after the 9 turn and 4 river to double up.

On the next deal, Bin Duan opened to 13,000 from early position. Roman Hrabec and Brian Luo called from the button and blinds.

Only Hrabec called Duan's 16,000 continuation-bet for the board to read Q987. Duan check-folded to Hrabec's bet of 30,000 to concede the pot.

"GT Optional:" Ace From Space Saves the Unabomber

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Phil Laak
Phil Laak

Vanessa Kade opened to 12,000 in the hijack and Daniel Ghionoiu three-bet to 32,000 in the cutoff as Phil Laak went in the tank in the big blind.

Laak eventually four-bet jammed to bring a quick fold from Kade. Ghionoiu went in the tank and eventually called with his stack of 300,000.

Daniel Ghionoiu: JJ All in
Phil Laak: AK

The flop of 682 kept Ghionoiu's jacks ahead and the 7 turn took away any of Laak's spade outs. But the dealer found the A river to suck the life out of the room as Laak put a tough beat on his opponent.

"Oh, Barry Greenstein! You dirty, dirty rat. Barry, Barry, where are you, Barry?" said Laak. "That was dirty. I mean that wasn't GTO but it was GTF: Game Theory Fun ... It was probably GT Optional."

Van Lent Calls Down Zawadzki

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Anuschka Van Lent
Anuschka Van Lent

Anuschka Van Lent limped in the hijack, and Kitson Kho did the same on the button. Mikolaj Zawadzki checked his big blind option, and the Q24 flop hit the felt.

Zawadzki and Van Lent checked, and Kho fired 15,000 into the middle. Both opponents called, and all three players checked the J turn.

Zawadzki saw the 9 river and led out for 17,000. Van Lent took most of the 30-second clock before sticking in a call, while Kho folded. Zawadzki tabled Q7 for top pair, while Van Lent showed Q10 for the same pair with a better kicker to claim the pot.
