Ramiro Petrone raised to 24,000 from the hijack for Kyle Carlston to respond with a shove for 250,000 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Petrone who looked at his cards once more before adding some chips to his bet for the call.
Kyle Carlston: A♦K♥
Ramiro Petrone: 7♠7♣
The board ran out 9♦5♥Q♠7♥K♠ for Petrone to hit a set on the turn to seal the deal.
Action was caught with cards on their backs. Chanracy Khun was all-in for around 150,000 from the small blind, and at risk to Michael Mizrachi, who was in the big blind.
Chanracy Khun: 6♥6♣
Michael Mizrachi: A♥Q♣
Mizrachi called for a jack after the K♥10♣7♥ flop, with Khun remaining ahead after the 7♠ turn.
The dealer completed the board with the Q♠ to give Mizrachi the winner.
While Ramiro Petrone looks to be nursing a stack of over a million, the other players on their tables are fighting for their tournament lives.
In the first hand, Gyeongyeong Lee's stack was counted and confirmed as being worth 219,000 when he had gone all-in with the board reading 2♥6♠10♥7♦9♠ and the A♣A♦ in front of him. Joe Serock had to pay but his cards had gone into the muck already while the floor commented that Serock had held either a KxJx or Kx10x.
On the next hand, Serock pushed his last 32,000 over the line from under the gun. Gabriel Tavares decided to also shove from middle position for 76,000. The action folded to Kyle Carlston in the big blind who called with the bigger stack.
Joe Serock: 9♥8♦
Gabriel Tavares: A♣8♣
Kyle Carlston: A♦7♦
The board ran out J♣8♥A♠K♦Q♠ for Tavares to flop two pair to eliminate Serock and earn a full double through Carlston.
Sirzat Hissou raised to 20,000 from middle position. Both Nick Schulman, on the button, and Soojo Kim, in the big blind, called.
They all checked through the 7♥5♠A♦ flop to the 5♦ on the turn. Kim bet 25,000. Schulman was the only one to make the call.
The river completed the board with the 6♣. Kim check-raised the 42,000 bet Schulman fired into the pot to 128,000. Schulman glanced at Kim and then called. Kim showed the K♣7♣ for sevens and fives, but Schulman held the A♥10♠ for the higher two pair with the aces and fives.
The board read 10♦2♣5♥4♦ with 160,000 in the middle. Hui Chen checked from the cutoff, then Alexandre Reard responded with a shove from the button for 225,000. Chen tanked for a bit, used a time bank card, and then called with the bigger stack.
Alexandre Reard: K♥K♣
Hui Chen: 7♣4♣
Chen had turned a pair of fours, but Reard was ahead with the pocket kings.
The river completed the board with the Q♣, which changed nothing, and Reard doubled up.
Bogdan Jontulovic opened to 20,000 and was called by Chino Rheem from the small blind. Alex Foxen shoved for around 140,000 from the big blind. Jontulovic rejammed and folded out Rheem.
Alex Foxen: K♠Q♥
Bogdan Jontulovic: A♠10♣
Foxen failed to connect on the J♣2♥2♦J♠8♣ runout and was eliminated.
