As Haxton collected the pot, on one table over, a pot of 205,000 had brewed between two Brazilian players. On the 3♥10♥7♥2♦4♣ board, Joao Simao checked from early position, and Alisson Piekazewicz fired out 179,000, leaving 2,500 behind from the cutoff. Simao went deep into the tank, eventually having the clock called on him. As the countdown began, he released his cards.

Fortin-Demers check-called for 15,000 on the K♦8♥2♥ before the 5♠ turn checked through to the 2♣ river. Fortin-Demers led out for 15,000 and was called. He tabled A♦8♦ for eights and deuces, which prompted Hissou to muck.

Meanwhile, on a neighboring table, Pedro Padilha eliminated William Brindise. Padilha held AxQx for top pair, top kicker, which was enough to beat Brindise’s Kx10x for a pair of tens.
