The first break of the day has started. The players will return in 15 minutes.

Vincent Gabel Eliminated

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

As we approached his table, Vincent Gabel was just getting up to make his way to the rail. He told us the details of his exit hand.

Gabel ended up in a three-bet squeezed multiway pot with {A-}{10-} suited and flopped a flush draw on {3-}{5-}{6-}. After several checks it was Chino Rheem making a bet of 3,200. Gabel called, but another player behind him now squeezed to 12,000. Chino Rheem folded, Gabel made the call once more.

An off suit {2-} on the turn saw Gabel shove his last 16,000 into the already sizable pot. His opponent tanked long and hard but eventually called with {6-}{6-} for top set. Gabel needed some help on the river, but the blank didn't fill up his flush and he departed as one of the first players today.

Gabel qualified for this event in a live satellite, and was determined to reenter.

Ramos Smooth Calls

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Under the gun, Joep van den Bijgaart raised it up and he received no less than 4 callers.

All of them checked on {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and the {7-Spades} popped up on the river. Big blind Simon Deadman bet out 1,200 and Van den Bijgaart was quick to fold. Van den Bijgaart's neighbor Felipe Ramos called, hijack Morten Mortensen called, and the player in the cutoff folded.

Three-way up to the river as the {Q-Hearts} completed the board. Deadman bet out 4,100 and Ramos contemplated what to do for a bit before calling. Mortensen over called.

Deadman was quick to let the other players know he didn't have much of anything. He silently mucked his cards and Ramos showed {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the straight. Mortensen mucked his, what we believe was, {6-}{9-}.

Stegeman Leads River

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Alberto Stegeman, an avid poker player and investigative reporter and television host in The Netherlands, has been here from the start and was seen playing a sizable pot just now.

On a board of {7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{K-Hearts} we saw Stegeman check call a bet of 900 from the small blind. His opponent was the player in the cutoff, though he was the button in reality as that spot at the table was still vacant at the time.

The river came the {2-Clubs} and Stegeman lead out for 2,100. His opponent called, but mucked upon seeing Stegeman's rivered full house with the {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Despite winning that pot, Stegeman still has around starting stack.

Balls of Steel for Refos

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

As we arrived the turn was already out in a hand between Gerard van Veen (under the gun) and Raoul Refos (late position), with the board reading {J-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Van Veen checked and Refos answered with a bet of 5,100. Van Veen called.

The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Van Veen checked. Refos silently glanced at his own stack, studied Van Veen's stack, and carefully tossed in three 5,000-chips for a bet of 15,000.

Van Veen wasn't too happy about all of this, and at one point let out a small sigh. He tanked for some time before eventually mucking his cards.

Refos let out a big smile and showed {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts} while raking in the chips.

"You dare huh?" said WPT Amsterdam 2015 and WPT Tournament Of Champions winner Farid Yachou.

"I had to!" answered Refos with an even bigger smile.

Fast Loses to Trips

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Dietrich Fast, who busted the high roller pretty quick today, hopped in the Main Event and lost some chips pretty rapid. We missed the preflop action but saw the under the gun player bet 375 on {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs}. On the button, Dietrich Fast called. Both players checked the {3-Spades} on the turn and the {K-Hearts} completed the board. The under the gun player bet 900 and Fast was hasty to call, but had to muck upon being shown {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.
