Solis Clashes with Dombrowski

Jake Solis
Jake Solis
Jake Solis has just doubled through former chip leader Chris Dombrowski to move to 109,000 in chips.

In what was a battle of the blinds, Dombrowski opened with a raise from the small and Solis countered with a raise of his own from the big. Dombrowski then four-bet the pot and Solis answered by moving all in over the top, for an approximate total of 52,000. Dombrowski made the call and tabled {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}; Solis could only produce {A-Hearts} {7-Hearts}.

The {2-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} board came to Solis' rescue, as he made the winning pair of aces to claim the pot. Dombrowski was left with 79,000 in chips after the hand.

Nyguen Clashes with Wong

Wong long gone
Wong long gone
With a board showing a flop of {9-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}, Tay Nyguen bet out from middle position for 17,000, before Marty Wong moved all in for his remaining 56,000. Nyguen thought briefly before calling and slamming down his {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs}. Wong, had hit the flop too, but was behind holding {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. The turn came {4-Clubs}, and the river a meaningless {6-Spades}. Wong was sent to the rail after running into the set, and Ngyuen stacked his new-found fortune to the tune of 140,000.

Kanter Canceled

Aaron Kanter
Aaron Kanter
Aaron Kanter was recently eliminated from the tournament by Emilio Porcalla. Porcalla opened the pot with a raise to 4,100 from the button and Kanter, short-stacked, moved all in from the small blind holding pocket sixes. Porcalla made the call with a pocket pair of his own -- aces -- and the board failed to deliver a six for Kanter, who was eliminated in the hand.

"That was Dirty"

Rick Troendly
Rick Troendly
The preflop sequence was raise, reraise, all in, call as Tom Masinter put Rick Troendly at risk. The showdown had Masinter's {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} dominating Troendly's {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts}. That is, until Troendly paired his jack on a flop of {Q-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. The turn and river ran out {5-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, respectively, and a standing Troendly clapped as he remarked the cliche, "Gotta get lucky sometime." He took his seat and then commented, "That was dirty."

Django = Busto

Django Broomfield
Django Broomfield
Django Broomfield was put all in by opponent Mike McClain before the flop and Broomfield made the easy call with two black kings; McClain tabled {A-Spades} {9-Clubs}.

The {3-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {6-Spades} board filled out in favor of McClain, giving him top pair to eliminate a visibly disappointed Broomfield from the main event.

Glenn Uchibori Doubles Through the Chip Leader

Glenn Uchibori
Glenn Uchibori
Rick Troendly opened the pot with a raise from UTG+1 to 5,000. Action folded around the table to Tom Masinter in late position, who made the call. When the action got around to Glenn Uchibori, he moved all in over the top for a total of 42,000. Troendly quickly folded and after a short dwell, Masinter made the call:

Showdown:
Uchibori: {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Masinter: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {6-Hearts} in heavy favor of Uchibori, whose set of jacks secured his double up to 90,000. Masinter was left with right around 75,000 after the hand.
