Troendly Executes a Bluff Against Galusha

Thomas Galusha
Thomas Galusha
Rick Troendly opened the pot with a raise from under-the-gun to 3,000. Action then folded all the way around the table to Thomas Galusha in the big blind who reraised a total of 9,000. Troendly then moved all in for what a appeared to be about 20,000 more and the move froze Galusha in his tracks.

"I have a good hand this time," Galusha said. Fingers shaking, he took a deep breath, looked up at the ceiling and closed his eyes before eventually folding {A-?} {Q-?} face up on the table.

Troendly tabled {K-Spades} {9-Spades}, no doubt trying to get under Galusha's skin.

"I knew it!" Galusha said. Justifying his fold, he added, "With my luck, you'd catch the king."

Cooper Crushes Fernandez

Micheal Cooper studies the turn
Micheal Cooper studies the turn
With the board showing {J-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} , Michael Cooper put his tournament life at stake when he moved all in and was called by Joe Fernandez. Cooper grumbled in disgust as he saw the {10-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} Fernandez held, Cooper flipped up his {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} while requesting the dealer to, " Pair the board." Fernandez did not like what he saw next as the dealer obliged and put a bookend {J-Diamonds} to fill Cooper up.

Cooper and Fernandez both had sizable chip stacks, but the gap was enormous after the hand. Cooper surged to 84,000, while Fernandez was left with only 9,200.

Neitzel Doubles Through Ferguson

Facing a preflop raise of 3,000 by Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson, John Neitzel shoved his remaining 12,000 chips into the middle. Ferguson made the call and tabled {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}, while Nietzel turned up {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}. The door showed the {A-Spades} and the {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} followed to round out the flop. The board came out {K-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} on the turn and river, respectively, and brought no help to Jesus. Nietzel climbed to 39,800.

Off the Mark

Carol Hampton
Carol Hampton
Carol Hampton just took a monster pot away from James 'Drew' Marks, leaving Marks with just 12,300 in chips.

On a flop of {Q-Hearts} {K-Spades} {9-Hearts}, Marks led out with a 2,500 bet and Hampton min-raised to 5,000. Marks made the call and saw the {J-Clubs} fall on the turn. Both players checked, opting to see a free river card, the {10-Spades}, which put a king-high straight on the board.

Marks quickly checked to Hampton who fired a 6,000 bet. Marks sat in apparent disbelief, shaking his head and staring at the board. Eventually, he made a reluctant call, only to see Hampton turn over {A-Clubs} {4-Hearts} for the nut Broadway straight.

Marks mucked his hand, but told the table he had top pair with a flush draw on the flop.

Hampton improved to 69,000 in chips with the win.

Recent Eliminations

Mark Bonsack
Mark Bonsack
Mark Bonsack was recently eliminated when he shoved all in over the top of a raise from Thomas Galusha on the turn. The board read {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {9-Spades} {6-Hearts} and Bonsack showed his {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} . Galusha had already gotten his hearts as he showed {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} . With the river coming {K-Spades} , Bonsack was done for the day.

Also recently sent to the rail was Bill Casey of Reno, Nevada.

Fernandez Buys One from Liebert

We caught up to this hand on the river, with the board showing {4-Spades} {9-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. There was approximately 20,000 already in the pot and Joe Fernandez had fired a 16,000 bet into Kathy Liebert. Liebert tanked for a minute or two before eventually flicking her cards back to the dealer, leaving herself with about 46,000 in chips. Fernandez improved to 66,000 with the win.
