They have just announced the payouts over the loud speaker for this event. They will be paying out 72 spots, with the first payout being $2,697. The top 15 will be guaranteed five figure pay days, and the magic number that all the players are looking at: $197,451 for the top prize.

Greeley Gets His Man

We picked up the action on the turn of a {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board. Brad Greeley had bet 17,000 into what appeared to be a 12,000-chip pot. Action was on David Williams who had about 22,000 left in his stack. He opted to fold but the player behind him was no so fortunate. They moved all in for about double the size of Greeley's bet. Greeley made the call to put his opponent at risk.

Greeley: {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"I had Ace-Jack," Williams told the table.

That left Greeley's opponent drawing to the lone remaining ace and he wouldn't not receive the miracle card. The river was the {j-Spades} and sent Greeley soaring to the top of the leader board.

Williams Making Moves

David Williams came back from dinner with a very short stack. However, he just moved all in three times in four hands without getting called. The second time he showed the {a-Clubs} and the third time he showed {a-}{k-}. He is now back above 20 big blinds and may have some more options through the rest of the level.

Holloway Doubles

Although were not sure exactly what the preflop action was, we do know Clayton Holloway moved all in for his last 20,675 with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was called by the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of his opponent.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Holloway was able to earn his double up while crippling his opponent at the same time.

Play Slowing

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We haven't had much to report in the last level or so, as the action has seemed to slow down. With the dinner break coming shortly, we have around 140 players left in this flight. Once they return from dinner, they will play four more hours of poker before wrapping it up for the night.

No Back To Back For Devo

We didn't catch the hand, but we saw that Bryan "Devo" Devonshire was no longer in his seat when we walked by his table. He has been eliminated from the tournament, but after yesterday's big win, we imagine he can't be all that upset.

Billirakis Busts A Short Stack

We missed the exact action preflop, but we know that Steve Billirakis came in for a raise in middle position, and action folded to the button, who shoved his short stack in for about 4,500 total. It folded back to Billirakis, who look less then enthused to make the pot committed call.

Billirakis: {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Billirakis had live cards, and while he didn't hit any of them on the flop, he did pick up more outs, as it came {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The turn, the {j-Hearts}, brought no help, but the river did, coming the {8-Clubs}. That gave Billirakis the straight, knocking out his opponent, and boosting Billirakis's stack to over 40,000.
