Kroon Coolered

Mark Kroon (Day 1a) takes a hit
Mark Kroon (Day 1a) takes a hit

When we reached Mark Kroon's table, the board was completed {k-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{a-}. Kroon was faced with a very large bet, and he tanked for a while before calling.

His opponent tabled {k-}{k-} for a set of kings, and Kroon showed {7-}{7-} for a set of sevens before mucking.

"I'm freerolling," Kroon said after the hand.

Up and Down for Mizrachi

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi fired 1,100 on the final board of {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, and his opponent raised to 2,200. Mizrachi took about half a minute, then called. His opponent showed the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for an eight-high flush. Mizrachi showed the {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and a nine-high flush and won the pot.

Despite this win, Mizrachi was back down on chips and only increased to 11,000. In typical Mizrachi fashion, it's been quite the roller-coaster start for him.

Mizrachi Doing His Thing

After a raise to 300 from a player in middle position and a reraise to 800 from the hijack seat, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi called on the button. The blinds folded, then the original raiser called.

The three players took the {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop, and the first player checked. The hijack seat fired 1,200, and Mizrachi called. The first player folded.

On the turn, the {4-Spades} paired the board, and the first player checked. Mizrachi bet 2,025, and his opponent made the call.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and the hijack seat bet 2,100. Mizrachi raised all in for 7,000 total, and his opponent began to tank.

"Don't be mad at me when you see this," commented Mizrachi while pointing down at his hole cards. His opponent laughed, and Mizrachi continued, "I shouldn't have been in from the beginning. This is a very bad beat."

The two exchanged some more friendly back and forth, then Mizrachi added, "If you don't wanna get upset, just fold."

After another minute or so, and after claiming to have just ace high, Mizrachi's opponent folded.
