Cantu Rivers a Straight

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Brandon Cantu
Brandon Cantu

The pot had a little over 65,000 in it and the board read {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Brandon Cantu was in the big blind and led out for a casual 35,000. His opponent went into the tank for a couple minutes before eventually making the call.

Cantu turned over {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a straight and his opponent sent his cards to the muck. Cantu racked up a stack of over 200,000 and then got moved tables, now sitting to the left of Bertrand Grospellier.

Any Aces Around

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Vojtěch Škalák raised to 6,000 and Dov Peterfreund moved all in for 74,000, which caused Rifat Gegic to reshove from late position and forced out all opponents including Skalak.

Dov Peterfreund: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Rifat Gegic: {A-}{K-}

The board came {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Peterfreund doubled.

One hand later, Vardan Lapayan shoved for 59,000 and Manuel Fischer reshoved from the small blind.

Vardan Lapayan: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Manuel Fischer: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Fischer could all but laugh, having made the same move as Gegic the hand before, and the board of {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades} let the player from Georgia double up as well.

Khakhalyev Busts

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Dmytro Khakhalyev moved all in for 54,000 from the cutoff and Van Tiep Nguyen reshoved out of the small blind to see Khakhalyev already expose his cards. However, Tezer Cetindag in the big blind was still to act and eventually folded.

Dmytro Khakhalyev: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Van Tiep Nguyen: {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board came {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and that was it for Khakhalyev.

One table over, Pavel Stolar raised to 6,500 and called the three-bet to 27,000 by Catalin Pop in the small blind. Both checked the {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop before Pop check-called a bet of 25,000 by Stolar on the {7-Diamonds} turn. The duo checked the {A-Clubs} river and Stolar won the pot with {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, much to the displeasure of Pop who mucked his cards with force. Jan Mach is now the player with the most chips on their table.

Gegic Gets Some More

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

There are some 150 players remaining and the average is currently at 132,000. Both Michael Magalashvili and Rifat Gegic are above that threshold and the latter scooped a pot. Picking up the action on the {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{K-Diamonds} turn, Magalashvili checked out of the small blind and called a bet of 20,000 by Gegic.

The {Q-Hearts} river was checked through again and Gegic won the pot with {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Jan Mach
Jan Mach

Jan Mach raised to 6,000 from middle position and was called by the cutoff and Catalin Pop in the big blind. The flop fell {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} and the action was checked around to the {7-Hearts} on the turn.

Pop led out for 8,000 and Mach made the call as did the cutoff. The {8-Spades} double-paired the board and Pop went for a larger bet of 32,000. Mach still called while the cutoff laid his hand down. Pop turned over {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} to get counterfeit on the river. Mach showed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for the best hand and raked in the pot.
