Petro Popovych Doubles Through Norbert Berent

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After one player limped, Norbert Berent raised to 3,300. Petro Popovych then moved all in for his last 15 big blinds from the cutoff. The blinds and the original limper folded, and Berent called.

Popovych: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Berent: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The flop was safe for Berent, coming {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Popovych looked set to hit the rail. However the turn was the {k-Spades} and the river the {10-Spades} meaning Popovych secured a double up.

Grafton Wants A Ruling; Sergei Petrushevskii Shoves

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Sergei Petrushevskii opened the betting from under the gun for 2,000 and Daniil Kiselev sat to his left raised to 4,800.

With players folding and the action getting to Sam Grafton he was unhappy that the dealer hadn’t made the right change on the blinds before any action. For example the blinds are currently 800 and Grafton had a 1,000 chip in front of him. The dealer was of the opinion that he wasn’t obliged to do so and the floor was called to make a ruling.

The floor sided with the dealer and said it was the player’s responsibility to know what the blinds were. Grafton wasn’t particularly pleased but accepted the ruling.

With that dealt with Petrushevskii sized up Kiselev and called.

The flop was {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Petrushevskii moved all in. Kiselev quickly mucked and Petrushevskii showed his {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

Dennis Bijen

Dennis Bijen moved all in for 15,500 from under the gun. In the next position sat Jiri Horak, who finished runner-up in the 2016 edition of the Colossus for $618,000. Horak had been short since before the last break and had finally found a spot to get his remaining chips in the middle. The remaining players at the table folded and the cards were turned over.

Bijen: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Horak: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Spades} and Horak was eliminated.

Oleksandr Zhyrnov and Out

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante
Edin Alijagic
Edin Alijagic

Edin Alijagic opened from early position for 1,900 and picked up two callers in small blind Oleksandr Zhyrnov and the player in the big blind.

The flop was {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} and a continuation bet form Alijagic saw Zhyrnov check-raise all in. A fold from the big blind saw Alijagic call.

Zhyrnov was the player at risk with his {9-Spades}{8-Spades} flush draw while Alijagic showed {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for two pair.

With a turn {6-Clubs} and a river {4-Clubs} the colour was right but the spades stayed in the deck to felt Zhyrnov.
