Sam Grafton Wins When He loses

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Franklin Nurmohamed limped from early position and it folded to Sam Grafton on the button who raised to 4,600. Krijin Broskij moved all in from the big blind and with Nurmohamed surrendering his interest in the pot Grafton called the shove.

Broskij had {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Grafton {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and it was off to the races.

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs} with a flopped set giving Broskij the pot to double him up.

Grafton found out the shove was for 10,300 and said, “I thought you had 30,000. I feel like I won the hand now.”

Petr Setka Over Average After Scooping Big Pot

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

With around 17,000 in the pot already, Atanas Kodinov had bet 11,100 into it with the board reading {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

His opponent in the pot was Petr Setka, whose most recent cash came with him winning the Czech Poker Tour High Roller last month for just over €4,000. Setka thought for a while before calling.

Kodinov turned over {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Setka craned his neck to look at the flop, before eventually revealing {a-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines and taking down the pot.

Lucky Linciano Doubles Up

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jean-Philippe Schoonbrood opened for 900 from the cut-off and got a call from the player om the button. Danilel Linciano in the small blind three-bet to 3,700 and while Schoonbrood called the other player folded.

It was heads-up to a flop of {j-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Spades} and Linciano continued for 3,500. Schoonbrood called and the turn was the {q-Clubs}.

Linciano bet 8,600 and when Schoonbrood moved all in Linciano quickly called for his tournament life.

“You have a straight?” Schoonbrood asked with some trepidation and Linciano confirmed his fears when he showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} while Schoonbrood was drawing thin with his flopped set holding {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

The river card {9-Diamonds} completed the board and the pain for Schoonbrood who lamented, “I wanted to raise you on the flop but I tried to trap.”

With most of his stack going into that pot Schoonbrood walked away from the table to clear his head.

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Oleksandr Oslavskyi opened from under the gun for 800 and picked up two callers including Senai Egziabhe in the big blind.
