Izadi Takes Healthy Lead of Remaining 49 Into Day 2 of IP Biloxi Main Event

Hamid Izadi
Hamid Izadi

It is time for an exciting Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit IP Biloxi $1,700 Main Event to get underway at 12 p.m. Out of a starting field of 281 entries, 49 players remain (17 from Day 1a and 32 from Day 1b). The money bubble will be burst early in the day, as 43 of the players will get paid.

Leading the field by some distance to start the day is Hamid Izadi, who will bring with him a stack of 523,000. The only player who will have over 100 big blinds at the jump. Izadi is the owner of three circuit rings already and is in prime position to make a deep run at another today.

Second in chips will be Day 1a chip leader Stephen Bierman with 425,000, who is nearly 20 big blinds behind Izadi yet still a decent distance in front of the rest of the top five which includes third place Robbie Beck (385,000), David Walters (364,000) and Jeremy Eyer (346,000).

Some other notables who remain in the field and will be looking to advance deep in the tournament are Ben Thomas (316,000), Trace Henderson (278,000) (who is going for the Biloxi Casino Championship), Bob Beck (241,000), Kyle Cartwright (184,000), Irene Carey (152,000) and Marshall White (68,000)

Play will begin at Level 17 with blinds at 2,000/5,000 and with a 5,000 big blind ante. This means action will be hot and heavy with several players jostling to start the day on the money bubble as one third (16 players) of the remaining field begin with less than 20 big blinds.

Levels are 60 minutes in length; breaks will be every two levels, with a dinner break at the discretion of the tournament director as the day goes on. Play will continue all the way until the end of Level 26 when the surviving players will bag and head to the final day on Monday.

PokerNews will keep you abreast of all the eliminations and big hands on what promises to be a scintillating Day 2 of action.
