Third Break of the Day

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Six levels have been completed and the Day 1a field has reached a total of 242 entries. Only 136 players still have chips at their disposal and they have been sent into a scheduled 20-minute break with two-thirds of today's schedule now concluded.

Glot Now Has a Lot; Lunario Has Nothing

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

The action started with a button raise by Benyamin Glot to 2,000 and Daniele Lunario then three-bet to 7,600 in the small blind, which Glot opted to call. As they headed to the {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop on which Glot continued for 8,600 and picked up a call by Glot.

The {7-Clubs} turn paired the board and Lunario pushed all-in for the 17,200 he had behind. Some 20 seconds were required by Glot, who then made the call.

Daniele Lunario: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Benyamin Glot: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Lunario was ahead but vaulted out of his seat to see the {9-Clubs} appear on the river, improving his table neighbour to a straight. "How can you call?" Lunario said on his way out.

Foppen Fobs Away Langrock

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Sebastian Langrock
Sebastian Langrock

Sebastian Langrock raised off a short stack and then faced the shove by his table neighbour Willem Foppen, who held the far superior stack. Some consideration by Langrock followed, who then called it off for what appeared to be 28,000.

Sebastian Langrock: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Willem Foppen: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop gave Langrock further outs and he improved with the {10-Diamonds} turn. However, it was all for nothing as the {q-Hearts} followed on the river to give Foppen queens full of tens.

Karaarslan Doubles Through Wieser

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Feyzullah Karaarslan
Feyzullah Karaarslan

Heads-up to the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} turn, Matthias Wieser pushed all-in from the hijack and the champion of the last WSOPC Main Event at King's Resort, Feyzullah Karaarslan, instantly called.

"Do you have the queen?" Wieser immediately sighed and tabled {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flush draw. That had no equity as Karaarslan indeed flipped over the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for the full house, which made the {9-Hearts} river a formality. Karaarslan doubled for 26,200 and the table broke right after with Wieser looking for his new table while holding a very short stack.

Gur Gets Zhong's Stack

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Zhong Chen
Zhong Chen

Dutch cash game player and King's regular Zhong Chen was all-in and at risk before the flop against the table big stack Onur Gur. It was a typical coin flip that decided over the fate of Chen in the following showdown.

Zhong Chen: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Onur Gur: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} board delivered not one but two overcards and Chen headed to the rail.

Spoddig Jams Up His Stack Against Truong

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

With around 40,000 in the middle on a board of {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades}, Sammy Truong was tempted to look up the shove by Carlos Spoddig for 57,900. He went into the tank and then asked the one question most poker players love. "Will you show if I fold?" to which Spoddig replied "of course not."

Truong then folded and exposed his {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, while Spoddig cheekily rolled over one of his cards to expose the {6-Diamonds}.

Neuville Left With Fumes After Gicovanu Doubles

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Marius Gicovanu shoved for 19,000 on a board of {4-}{6-}{k-}{5-}{j-}. Pierre Neuville called and was disappointed to find Gicovanu rolled over {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair beating his {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} leaving Neauville with less than four big blinds.
