Trifan Pays Off Schick

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

With around 15,000 in the middle, David Schick bet the {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop for 6,000 and earned a call from Florin Trifan. The same action repeated on the {7-Clubs} turn for another 12,000 and Schick then made it 20,000 to go on the {4-Diamonds} river.

Trifan tanked for one minute and then splashed in calling chips for Schick to roll over the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. That was enough to win the pot as Trifan slammed the table in disgust.

[Removed:313] Runs Kings Into Aces

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

"The hand played itself," one of the players at the table remarked after the two best pocket pairs in No Limit Hold'em clashed. [Removed:312] was on the wrong end of it as his {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} faced the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} of Andrej Racek.

[Removed:313] picked up some additional equity until the {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades} turn but the {10-Diamonds} river paired the board. Both stacks were counted and Racek's 65,500 were superior.

Hofmann Eliminated by Kovac

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Thomas Hofmann
Thomas Hofmann

Thomas Hofmann ended up at risk on the heads-up turn of {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} turn with a short stack and he was looked up by Michal Kovac.

Hofmann turned over the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for the top set while Kovac was hoping for a five or ten, holding {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for the open-ender. The {5-Diamonds} river indeed improved Kovac to a straight and Hofmann hit the rail.

Alkan Pips [Removed:347] and Paap

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Volkan Alkan raised to 1,500 and table chip leader [Removed:346] called. Martin Paap then three-bet to 6,200 and Alkan four-bet to 19,500. Two quick folds later, the pot was pushed to Alkan.

"If you wouldn't have done it, I would have," [Removed:347] mentioned in table chat. The player from Israel has already accumulated four and a half starting stacks, which appears to be good enough for the lead towards the end of level five.

More Assorted Counts After Dinner

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Savinelli Loses a Bunch to El Ghanim

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Carlo Savinelli raised to 1,500 on the button and then called a three-bet to 3,500 by Abd El Ghanim in the small blind. El Ghanim then bet all further streets for 4,500 on the {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, 5,500 on the {5-Diamonds} turn and 7,000 on the {a-Diamonds} river.

Savinelli wasn't too happy on the river but called to then muck once El Ghanim flipped over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Shylko Loses Some to van Brugge

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Aliaksandr Shylko had been the initial preflop aggressor but it was Kees van Brugge who bet the {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop for 2,800, which Shylko check-called. The Belorussian checked again the {5-Hearts} on the turn and that prompted another bet worth 8,200 by van Brugge. That was enough to end the hand right there as Shylko opted to fold.

Ugucctoni Felted by Sellem

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

In a three-bet pot to the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Jonathan Sellem bet 6,500 and was called by Michael Ugucctoni. The {8-Diamonds} followed on the turn and Sellem pushed all-in with the far supperior stack. Ugucctoni had around 41,000 behind and called it off.

Michael Ugucctoni: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Jonathan Sellem: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs} on the river failed to improve Ugucctoni and he was sent to the rail.

Iftimia Scores a Double

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

The cards were already on their backs when Marius Iftimia ended up at risk for 26,500 with {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a flopped set. He had to fade diamonds versus Kestutis Rusys' {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and did so successfully on the {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{a-Spades} board.
