Saltsberg Triples; Busts After

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Down to crumbs, Tsuf Saltsberg tripled up when he got his very short stack in from the big blind. On the {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades} river, Michael Ugucctoni also jammed for a short stack as well and was called by Ermanno Di Nicola.

Saltsberg showed {5-Spades}{3-Clubs} for the wheel while Ugucctoni doubled through Di Nicola with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} versus {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. However, shortly after, Saltsberg lost the last of it as well to hit the rail.

[Removed:347] Loses Lots of Chips and Gets a Penalty

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Agostino Scozzari
Agostino Scozzari

A loud bang on the table could be heard from afar when [Removed:346] was not too pleased about the all-in showdown against Agostino Scozzari. His cards were already mucked as he paid off the 78,600 of Scozzari, who had earned a full double. The Italian's {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} were good for the nuts on the {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Hearts} board and he joined the big stacks.

Not only did [Removed:347] lose lots of chips but also earned a one round penalty for his outburst.

Gegic Eliminated by Rohrmueller

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Following a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Frank Rohrmueller in the big blind and Rifat Gegic got their chips in with near similar stack sizes.

Rifat Gegic: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Frank Rohrmueller: {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Gegic had plenty of outs with the flush draw and superior straight draw but neither the {7-Clubs} turn nor the {4-Spades} river were of any help.

Boesiger Gets His Revenge on Roettelbach

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Silvan Boesiger bet the {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop for 10,000 to pick up a call from Richard Roettelbach and the {6-Hearts} turn was checked. Roettelbach then bet the {9-Spades} river for 10,500 and Boesiger moved all-in. That once again sent Roettelbach into the tank and this time, he sigh-folded.

Late Casualties on Day 1a

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Two and a half levels remain to be played and the Day 1a field has been nearly cut into half. Only 174 players out of 317 entries remain in contention while another bargain satellite is also in full swing in Europe's biggest poker arena.

Sade Doubles Through Wyrebski

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sharon Sade got his last 16,600 in preflop with the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} and had a coin flip against Wojciech Wyrebski with the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. The {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} board delivered the overcard right away and Wyrebski dropped back to around the starting stack.

Achegsei No More

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a table filled with big stacks, Ahmad Achegsei can no longer be found as the German was recently sent to the rail. It was Nicolas Bokowski who claimed his chips. According to Bokowski, he had flopped a full house and Achegsei's turned flush draw had zero equity.

The other big stacks on the table are Marek Blasko, Robert Kokoska and Sharon Ben David.

Maini Eliminated by Butuc

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The pace of eliminations has picked up during the final stages of the day. Among those to bust recently was also Pritpal Maini, who got it in with the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}. He was looked up by table neighbour Gheorghe Butuc with the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and the superior hand held on the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} board.

Bozinovic Gets a Shove Through

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Vladimir Bozinovic
Vladimir Bozinovic

Vladimir Bozinovic raised to 2,000 and earned three callers. As they headed to the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, it checked to Bozinovic and he continued for 3,500. Only Nicu Sirbu called but then folded on the {5-Spades} turn when Bozinovic jammed.
