Bise Doubles Helou and Neuville

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Emil Bise
Emil Bise

While Emil Bise was able to run up a larger stack, it was nearly cut in half within quick succession. He first got it in for more than the starting stack with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} against the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} of Mark Helou.

The {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades} board kept Helou ahead and he doubled with a set.

Up next, Pierre Neuville was all-in for 19,300 on a three-way turn of {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Gaetano La Iacona folded and Bise called.

Pierre Neuville: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Emil Bise: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The {2-Spades} river brought no help to Bise as Neuville held onto the lead with his overpair.

The second bullet for Tom Orpaz on Day 1a has not been crowned with success and he sent over the stack to table chip leader Matthew Bushell. Dominated with an inferior kicker, his {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} was no good as the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} of Bushell remained ahead throughout a {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} board.

Neuville Back Below the Starting Stack

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The cards of Pierre Neuville were already in the muck and he paid off a full double for Clement Cure. A brief look at the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts} board and the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Cure was enough to tell a part of the story as the Frenchman doubled for more than 53,000 with his flopped trips and turned full house.

Neuville's rollercoaster continued as he dipped back below the starting stack.

Back to the Drawing Board for Madsen

On a completed board with some 30,000 in the middle, Jakob Madsen bet the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board for 15,000. Philipp Krieger then jammed for 34,800 in the first hand at the table after sitting down.

While Madsen was deep in the tank, Krieger said "this is my third bullet, I gotta be good here bro". Ultimately, the clock was called on the Dane and he sigh-called with five seconds left.

Krieger tabled the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for the top two pair and Madsen mucked {a-Spades}{8-Hearts} for inferior two pair.
