Dragomir Scores a Double

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Following the {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} turn, "Onkel Otto" bet-called the shove by Catalin Dragomir for 24,900 total and sighed when he got shown the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} by the Romanian.

"Onkel Otto" had {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} to block the kings and yet held zero equity as the {10-Spades} river completed the board.

"With my stack size, I cannot get out of there," he added before walking out of the tournament area for the third break of the night.

Baldelli Jams Into Benkovic

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Fabien Baldelli
Fabien Baldelli

Lukas Benkovic three-bet only for Fabien Baldelli to four-bet out of the blinds for 14,500 total. Only Benkovic came along as the duo checked the {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. On the {10-Clubs} turn, Baldelli bet 9,700 and was called to then see the {7-Clubs} on the river.

Baldelli now jammed for 25,700 and Benkovic folded.

"Did you get there?" Baldelli was asked and Sebastian Langrock chimed in with a "he is French, he didn't have shit".

Peters Out; Refos Up

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Tobias Peters was already gone from his seat as the pot was pushed to Simon Mikek. The latter had scored the knockout with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} on a queen-high board but it can be expected that Peters will jump back in at some point during the registration period.

Another Dutchman is doing a lot better on Day 1a and just added some chips to his stack. On a {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} river, Raoul Refos check-called a bet by Vojtech Ruzicka (not the former November Niner) and was good with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Bushell Takes From Kotecha

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Matthew Bushell in the small blind led a three-way turn of {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} out of the small blind for 6,000. Only Vinesh Kotecha called on the button and Bushell then checked the {2-Clubs} on the river.

Kotecha made it 13,000 to go but Bushell called and exposed his {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the top pair already. His countryman nodded and tossed the cards towards the muck.

Madsen Back Above the Starting Stack

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Not that long ago, Jakob Madsen was on fumes but without any re-entry, he has leaped back above the starting stack. The cards of his opponent were already in the muck while Madsen appeared to have tripled up.

Madsen's {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} were good to scoop the board on the {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board while Jason Wheeler said "I wasn't going to fold for 7,000" after he had been forced out of the pot prior to the showdown.

Next Batch of Casualties

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Out of a field of 281 entries, some 185 players remain in the sixth level of the day. Several notables can be found in the recent batch of bustouts, some of which already ran out of chips for the second time on Day 1a.

Dula Gets a Shove Through

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Joining the action on a completed board of {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Dalibor Dula was all-in for 34,500. Instantly, Manoe Betrix on the button asked for an exact count before he went into the tank.

"You have it, really?" a somewhat confused Betrix said in table chat after two minutes of consideration. He then opted to fold and Dula raked in the pot without showing the cards.

Ashelm Doubles Through Jonker

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The last few hours had not been as kind to Robert Ashelm and he was spotted all-in with a short stack. However, he had the best of it with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} against the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} of Don Lorenzo Jonker.

The {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades} board kept the aces in the lead as Ashelm stuck around with a shorter stack.
