Florian Gehbauer opened from late position before Adrian Strobel jammed for 390,000 from the big blind. Gehbauer called, and the players went to a showdown.
Adrian Strobel: A♦K♦
Florian Gehbauer: A♥6♣
Strobel's big slick had Gehbauer dominated, and because neither player improved on the Q♥4♦4♥8♠10♠ runout, Strobel's kick-kicker played, and he doubled up.
David Wintersberger raised to 60,000 from middle position before Kilian Kramer three-bet to 500,000 from the cutoff. Wintersberger ripped it in, and Kramer called for his last 40,000 that he left behind.
Kilian Kramer: A♣Q♣
David Wintersberger: A♠J♥
Kramer had tripled up one orbit ago and now was in the perfect spot to boost his stack to over a million.
The board ran out Q♠3♠5♦10♣A♥ to give Kramer the best hand with top two pair, and he earned the double-up at the expense of Wintersberger.
Marcel Maurer raised to 65,000 from the small blind and Marek Tatar defended from the big blind.
Maurer continued for 50,000 when he saw the 4♠6♥6♠ flop. Tattar called.
An 8♥ came on the turn and Maurer fired a second barrel of 90,000. Again, Tatar called.
The 6♦ completed the board and Maurer fired a third and final barrel of 230,000. Tatar looked at Maurer before deciding a fold was best, and returned his cards to the dealer.
At a nearby table, Simon Lauchenauer was seen leaving the tournament area as he had been eliminated.
Mathias Muehlebach raised to 75,000 under the gun before Kilian Kramer three-bet to 115,000 on the button with just 5,000 behind. Daniele Lunario made it a three-way from the big blind and the dealer fanned out the 4♥K♣3♣ flop.
Lunario led out for 80,000, which got Muehlebach to fold. Kramer called for his last chip to put himself at risk.
Kilian Kramer: A♠9♦
Daniele Lunario: 4♦3♦
Lunario was far ahead with bottom two pair, and only running cards would save Kramer.
A 9♠ on the turn gave Kramer a pair and a glimmer of hope. The K♠ on the river counterfeited Lunario's two pair, and Kramer tripled up with a higher two pair.
A pot of over a million just went down on Table #36 between Eros Calderone and Angelo Arossi.
Calderone's stack of roughly 575,000 got into the middle preflop from the small blind, and Arossi was trying to win them all out of the hijack.
Eros Calderone: Q♦J♠
Angelo Arossi: A♠Q♣
Calderone was in terrible shape with queen-jack against the ace-queen of Arossi.
The dealer spread the 8♥8♠10♦ flop that helped Calderone, as he picked up some extra outs with a straight draw.
A 9♦ on the turn was the perfect card for Calderone, as he spiked his straight to take a commanding lead in the hand.
Arossi couldn't find a jack on the river to chop the pot, as the A♦ completed the board. Calderone won the pot with a queen-high straight and boosted his stack to around 1,200,000.
At a nearby table, Hrup Jure was seen heading to the exit and has been eliminated.
