Chip Counts
In a small pot to the 3♠9♠Q♠3♣ turn, Baptiste Caim three-bet jammed from the big blind, and Alina Paliahoshka quickly called off her stack of 170,000 from the small blind.
Alina Paliahoshka: 4♠3♦
Baptiste Caim: 7♠5♠
Caim faded a full house on the 8♣ river, sending Paliahoshka to the rail and adding more chips to his big stack.
Lauri Laast raised to 12,000 under the gun. It folded to Tor Sandstroem in the small blind, who placed a small three-bet to 25,000. Laast called, and called thrice more as Sandstroem fired 10,000 on the A♦Q♥7♠ flop, 10♥ turn, and 2♥ river.
Sandstroem then revealed K♠K♣. Laast could not beat it, and he returned his cards to the muck face down.
Level: 14
Blinds: 3,000/6,000
Ante: 6,000
Alina Paliahoshka open-raised in the cutoff, and Baptiste Caim tossed in a three-bet to 24,000 on the button. Matiss Celmins then moved in his stack of 42,000 from the small blind, and Paliahoshka reshoved for 77,000.
Caim asked for a count, but quickly got out of the way when he heard the correct amount.
Matiss Celmins: A♥A♣
Alina Paliahoshka: Q♦Q♣
Celmins looked to be in great shape to double up, but Paliahoshka found a set on the Q♠3♦2♠ flop to take a massive lead. No ace appeared on the J♣ turn or 3♥ river, cementing Celmins' elimination.
In a single-raised pot, Martin Piik and Martin Studzinski were heads up on the 4♦6♥J♠ flop. Studzinski checked from the small blind, seeing Piik continue with a bet of 9,000 from under the gun.
Studzinski then raised to 29,000, to which Piik responded by moving all in for 54,000. Studzinski sighed but decided he was committed to the pot and called off the remaining chips.
Martin Piik: A♥J♦
Martin Studzinski: A♣9♣
Studzinski needed running outs against Piik's top pair, but the Q♣ turn left him drawing dead instead. The 9♥ river gave him a meaningless pair as Piik had already earned his double-up.
Day 1b registered a total of 224 entries. The day will conclude when the bubble bursts at 34 players left, with 57 players currently remaining in contention.
