Nam Le Has NOT Busted

In our chip counts we'd listed Nam Le as already out of today's event, and that was wrong, wrong, wrong. Nam is sitting at the table with 13,500 in front of him. This probably won't be the last mistake we make over the next 47 days (well, why not be optimistic?) but we'll work hard to set the record straight as soon as possible.

Deeb Loses Some

On a flop of {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}, Seat 9 bets 400 in early position. Freddy Deeb makes it 800 in middle position. Seat 9 re-raises to 1200 and Deeb calls. The turn is {9-Diamonds}. Seat 9 checks. Deeb bets 400. Seat 9 raises to 800 and Deeb re-raises to 1200. Seat 9 caps it at 1600 and Deeb calls.
The river is {A-Clubs}. Seat 9 bets 400 and Deeb calls.
Seat 9 shows {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a straight and Deeb shows {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and then mucks. Deeb is down to 12,200.

Doyle's Seen This Before

After a flop of {7-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {2-Diamonds} a shortstack at Doyle Brunson's table moved all-in for a meager handful of chips. Layne Flack min-raised, and Doyle Brunson raised himself to chase Flack out. Doyle turned over pocket sevens for the set and the shortstack showed pocket tens, and it looked like the table was about to have an empty seat. And that's when the turn and river came Eight-Jack to give Doyle's opponent the runner-runner straight.

Resurrected, the player said that you usually only see that kind of hand online. "Oh, I'm used to it," Doyle said.

Gus Hansen Busts

A player under the gun limps in. Hansen makes it 400 in the small blind and Devin "TranquilChaos" Miller in the big blind and the UTG player call. The flop is {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the blinds check. The UTG player bets and Hansen and Miller call. The turn is the {5-Diamonds} and Hansen is all in. Miller folds and the UTG player calls and wins with a river of {J-Clubs}. Hansen is out.

Not Quite Yet the Six-Million Dollar Man

I'd be willing to bet that Steve Austin has heard a few jokes about his name over the years, but he probably won't mind at this particular moment since he's our chip leader. Austin has 53,500, some of which was accumulated when he made two pair with Q-2 thanks to a deuce on the turn and had a 2,400 bet called on the river.
