Phil Laak Makes a Boo-Boo

After busting a player early on and building up a nice early stack, Phil Laak gave a good bit back after a little faux pas. With the action folded around Laak called in the small blind and the big blind raised to 725. Laak called and, thinking the big blind was all-in, flipped over his {A-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Thing is, the other player still had 2,000 behind, so Laak took his cards back and they saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The other player pushed in his remaining chips and, after doing some calculations, Laak decided to call. The other player showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, his pair held up, and Laak was left with far fewer chips than he might've had.

Must Be a Friday

Or a Saturday, because the field is huge. We have almost 80 tables out in the Poker Pavilion, and maybe more than that in here. Tables are ten-handed, so we could easily get north of 1,500 participants.
