Mark Seif Loses Half His Stack

In early position Mark Seif raised to 1,800 and couldn't have been pleased that four players called. The flop came {8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Seif led out for 5,000. The player two to his left moved in for 15,800 more. After the other players folded, Seif called and showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair. It turned out to be an unlucky flop for Seif as his opponent had flopped a set with pocket Eights. Losing that pot brought Seif's stack down to 21,000.

Phil Hellmuth Has Been Eliminated

After a player in early position raised to 1,600, Phil Hellmuth moved all-in for 2,700 more on the button. The other player made the call and Hellmuth turned over his trademark pocket Nines. "Well, I've got an overcard," his opponent said as he showed {10-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The flop of {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} seemed to bode well for Phil, but the {K-Spades} on the turn gave his opponent a flush draw. And that's what did Hellmuth in -- the {2-Spades} on the turn that gave his opponent the flush and ended Phil's day.
