Dealer Reads Cards Wrong--Joe Awada Wins--No He Doesn't

Joe Awada raised 600 and two players called. The flop came {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and everyone checked. Players checked the {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Seat 3 showed {A-Spades}{9-Spades}, Awada showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. At that point the dealer pushed the pot to Awada for a pair of aces. Seat 3 objected, pointing out his two pair. The floor was called and cards retrieved. Sure enough, the dealer had misread the nine as a six. The chips were awarded to Seat 3 and left Awada crippled.

The McEvoy and Cloutier Show

Tom McEvoy
Tom McEvoy
A short time ago, T.J. Cloutier was spotted counting out $5,000 in cash from a $10,000 wad of bills Tom McEvoy handed to him. McEvoy was "holding" the money for Cloutier for reasons unknown (perhaps T.J. wanted to avoid a trip to the craps table?).

Ironically, two players at McEvoy's table gave them two playing cards for both their autographs. McEvoy signed the {K-Hearts} while Cloutier signed the {J-Spades}.

T.J. said "You'll notice who has the best signature," which brought a laugh from the table.
