Williamson Abandons His Stack

Robert Williamson III appears to have abandoned his chips and left the steamy outdoor tent.

"I'm under the weather today and don't know if I should just leave my chips and go home" he said.

Williamson's 2600 stack currently sits on the felt alone. We'll keep an eye out to see if he returns.

Mark Seif on a Roll

An unknown opponent raised to 350 from middle position and Mark Seif called from the cutoff. The flop was {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {2-Clubs}. The MP player bet 350 and Seif smooth-called. The river was the {3-Hearts}. The MP player bet another 400, Seif raised to 1200 and the MP player called. Seif showed A-J for top pair, top kicker and his opponent mucked.

Seif was up to 9100 after the hand.

All Alternates Will Be Seated

There are 241 tables in action, including tables in the regular Rio poker room. 470 alternates have already been seated in event 3, and there are 100 more with seat cards in hand, and there are others waiting behind them. Tournament officials have announced that they will keep seating alternates until all of them are in the tournament, regardless of the level.

Those Sixes and Nines Strike Again

The lookalike sixes and nines in the much-maligned "Poker Peek" decks just cost one player his entire stack. On a flop of {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Rep Porter bet 400, his opponent moved all in and Porter called. Porter showed A-T while his opponent held 4-6, believing he had flopped two pair. Only, what he thought was a six was actually a nine! The turn was the {8-Hearts} and the river the {J-Clubs}, giving him no help. After he was knocked out, he stood and looked at the board, just shaking his head.
