One Down from "Alaska Reinforcements"

Ernie Emmi had pocket sixes and caught a six on the flop. He committed most of his chips, but his opponent had pocket sevens and also caught a seven on the flop. In the next hand, Emmi had a pair of nines and pushed all-in with his last 650. Unfortunately, his nines didn't hold up and he was eliminated. One down from the "Alaska Reinforcements." Wayne McGregor and Mike Forman are still in the running with about 2,200 each in chips.

Shannon Elizabeth Triples Up

Shannon Elizabeth and two opponents saw a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Elizabeth checked, Seat 4 bet 400, Seat 10 and Elizabeth called. The turn came {2-Hearts}. Seat 4 pushed all-in for 1,650, Seat 10 raised all-in and Elizabeth called. The river came {A-Spades}. Seat 4 showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for a pair of queens, Seat 10 showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of queens, but Elizabeth turned over {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of aces to take the pot and triple up,

The Camera Turns...

Filipe Pacheco
Filipe Pacheco
That guy in the picture at right is usually on the other side of the camera. This is Filipe Pacheco, who lives in Lisbon, Portugal, and runs the Portugese language version of PokerNews.com. Filipe is responsible for many of the photos you have seen on PokerNews.com during this World Series. Filipe is taking his turn at the tables, and we figured we would show him what its like to have your picture taken while you are playing poker. As they say in Portugal - Boa Sorte, Filipe!

More Notables

Gavin Smith, John Gale, Justin Bonomo, Carl Olson, Eric Hershler, and Men Nguyen have all been sighted. And Gary Gibbs in the house for the first time this year; getting in just last night. My guess is that he'll be making a run at the Senior's event on Monday - the event that he won in 2004. Gibbs got into poker late in life, but has final tabled in 6 out of the 8 events he's cashed in.
