The tournament staff just announced that all tables will be played nine-handed as players are eliminated from the field. When play began, all tables were ten-handed.

After the break, the tournament staff released the following information:

280 total entries
27 players will get paid
1st place will receive $361,000
27th will receive $12,500

The dinner break will begin after the 4th blind level, at approximately 9:20 p.m. local time.

Lisandro Gets His Gold

Minutes after accepting a room full of applause for capturing his first World Series bracelet, Jeff Lisandro went straight from his ESPN interview with Norman Chad right into the $5K Omaha Hi Lo event.

Doyle and Daniel Arrive

Doyle Brunson and Daniel Negreanu both took their seats in the $5K Omaha event during the break.

Doyle is sitting with Amir Vahedi, Eli Elezra, and Men "The Master" Nguyen, while Daniel pulled up a chair to the left of Phil Ivey. Strangely enough, this is the second time at this WSOP that Daniel and Phil have been placed next to each other. They're both enjoying tableside massages as we speak.

In a three-way pot with lots of betting, raising and reraising, Michael Mizrachi came out on top, revealing a wheel on the river holding A-A-3-3 on a board of {5-Clubs}

.

Grinder scooped the pot and now has 9,500 chips.

Standing in the very middle of the tournament area, with his arms flailing and lips flapping, Mike Matusow asked the masses "Does anybody object to Gus signing up for the tournament? Anybody?"

Afterwards, Mike wandered over to Scotty Nguyen's table and said "You've got to make fun of a bad situation . . . and everyone knows, this is a bad situation."
