Hot Chocolate, Please

Orders for bottled water and Red Bull have been replaced by hot chocolate and coffee, as the sun has gone down, along with the temperature here in the Players Pavilion.

Tournament directors are catering to the players' request to change the breaking order of the tables, so that they can escape the cold air coming from the air conditioning vents.

Rafe Furst Eliminated

Rafe Furst moved all in for his last 1,750 on a board showing {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}; he was called by a player in middle position and also by John Racener from the cutoff.

Racener and the middle-position player both checked the {10-Spades} river. Rafe turned over {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for two pair, but the unknown player in the hand flipped over {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a straight. Racener mucked his cards and Furst was eliminated on the hand.

Racener was left with 2,300 when all was said and done.

The Binger Brothers

Last year's Main Event finalist Michael Binger and his brother Nick are both playing this event. Relatives playing the same tournament are often profiled and it's usually a father/son or husband/wife duo getting the attention. The Bingers could change that trend with strong finishes in this event. At this point, both are still very much alive in this event.

Clonie Gowen Has Been Eliminated

Gowen made two pair but her opponent flopped a straight. The action is unclear but when her opponent showed the nuts, Gowen double-checked her hole cards, quickly flashed them and then tossed them into the muck. She then smiled and made a quick but graceful exit.
