Marr Wins Unraised Pot

In an unraised pot, Peter Marr and his opponent checked a highly coordinated flop of {Q-Hearts} {10-Spades} {9-Clubs}. Marr check-called a bet of 2,200 when the turn came {3-Hearts}, and check-called a bet of 5,200 on the river {7-Hearts}. He tabled {9-Spades} {5-Spades} for a pair of nines; his opponent mucked.

Marr is up to approximately 38,000.

Steve Paul-Ambrose Gives Some Back

Action folded around to the player on the button who raised to 1,800. Steve Paul-Ambrose reraised all in from the big blind for 10,750 total. Paul-Ambrose had more chips, and the button called for his remaining 6,750.

Paul-Ambrose held {K-Spades} {J-Spades} and was racing against the {9-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} of his opponent. Unfortunately for Paul-Ambrose, it was a race he lost when the board came {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. The button doubled through him and he is left with a modest 2,500.

Lawson Busts Another

Ted Lawson bet 1,500 on a flop of {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}. His opponent moved all in for 3,000 more, and Lawson pondered his decision.

As soon as he went into the tank, every other player from the table got up. Lawson has been taking quite a bit of time to make each of his decisions this afternoon, and his tablemates are fed up. After Ted asked his opponent, "Are you on a draw?" his opponent called for a clock.

One of the other players at the table then asked the floor, "Can you just stay here so we can call a clock on him every time?"

"Don't talk right now," Lawson snapped back.

Lawson did finally make the call, tabling {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. His opponent showed {Q-Spades} {7-Hearts}. Lawson was in trouble, but was bailed out when the board came {2-Clubs}{J-Spades} to make him a straight and bust his opponent.

Richard Lee Doubles Up

Richard Lee reraised himself all in preflop and found a single caller. Lee's pocket eights emerged best come showdown against his opponents {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Lee is back in the mix with roughly 18,000.

Jared Hamby Pads His Stack

Jared Hamby just sent another player home. Hamby was in the big blind and after the small blind limped into the pot, he raised all in. The small blind called with {K-Hearts} {8-Clubs} and Hamby tabled {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}. Hamby's pair of sevens held up and he climbs to 20,375.

Shulman Crippled

Barry Shulman is on life support after moving all in on the turn of a board showing {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {2-Spades}. He was called by an opponent on the button who held {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}; Shulman turned over {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair with a straight draw and a flush draw. He missed everything when the river came {3-Hearts} and is left with only 2,300 chips.

Nam Le Eliminated

A severely short-stacked Nam Le was all in for just 75 in chips from the big blind. The under-the-gun player raised to isolate and Le's {5-Diamonds} {4-Spades} had nothing for his opponents {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. Despite flopping a pair and an inside straight draw, Le finished the hand second-best and finished his day earlier than he'd have liked.

J.J. Liu Eliminated

J.J. Liu is another notable pro who won't see Day 2. She was launched early in level 7 when she check-raised all in on a board of {5-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades} holding {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. Her opponent quickly called and turned over {A-Clubs} {3-Clubs}. No help for Liu on the turn or river. She is out.

Tim Vance Eliminated

Tim Vance is no longer with us after he got his last 4,200 in before the flop holding {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs}. Vance got action from John Perez who held {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}. When the board came out {9-Spades} high, Perez took down the pot with ace-high and sent Vance home early.

Fuller's Middle Pair is Good

From the big blind, Thomas Fuller was the only caller of a raise to 1,800. He check-called a bet of 3,000 on a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Both players checked the turn {2-Hearts}. Fuller again checked the river {7-Diamonds}, then called a bet of 5,000 and showed {9-Spades} {10-Clubs} for two pair, tens and deuces. His opponent flashed the {7-?} before mucking.
