Thor Crushes Aces

Cesar Romero pushed all in with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and was up against Thor Hansen's {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The flop was {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and Romero was still in the lead. But the {K-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Romero went from way ahead to way behind.

The river was the {6-Hearts}, and Romero is out. Hansen now has 134,000.

Mount St. Garner?

It's been a rough couple of hands for Mark Garner. On a flop of {7-Spades} {7-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}, David Rheem bet 7,000. Garner called. The turn was another baby, the {6-Spades}, bringing a bet of 12,000 from Rheem. Garner called that one, too.

On the river {J-Hearts}, Rheem checked. Garner fired out a bet of 25,000, sending Rheem into the tank for at least three minutes.

"I know you have ace-king," said Rheem. "I know it." He did finally make the call. Garner turned over {A-Spades} {K-Spades}, which could not beat Rheem's {5-Clubs} {4-Hearts} made a pair of fours to take the pot.

The very next hand, Garner raised to 2,300 preflop and was reraised all in by an opponent for a total of 11,000. Garner made the call with {2-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} and was up against {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}. A board of {6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs} made Garner's opponent the winner.

After those hands, Garner has 118,000. Rheem is up to 225,000.

Boxell Takes Jabs, But Still Standing

Leo Boxell raised to 2,400 from early position, with Vanessa Rousso and Christiane Klecz making the call.

They saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Boxell led for 6,000. Rousso then grabbed a handful of chips and dumped them into the middle. It ended up being 50,000 worth. Klecz and Boxell both folded.

Soon after, Boxell tried again with a raise to 2,400 from under the gun. Rousso called, as did the small blind, before the big blind moved all in for 18,500 in total. The squeeze play worked as all three opponents were forced to fold.

Boxell is back down to 23,200 chips.

Maya Running Well

Maya Geller-Antonius
Maya Geller-Antonius
Maya Geller-Antonius made it 2,700 to go preflop and was called by a player in midposition. The flop ran {3-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {K-Clubs} and Maya fired 4,400 into the middle. Her opponent called and the turn brought the {J-Spades}. Maya bet 6,000 and her opponent called. Both players checked the {3-Spades} on the river and Maya's opponent mucked after she showed pocket sixes.

After the hand, Maya is up to 105,000.

Ha! Got You!

Haralabos Voulgaris bet out 7,500 on a flop of {9-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. Vimy Ha made the call.

The turn was the {K-Hearts} and both players checked.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Voulgaris bet 18,000. Ha moved all in and Voulgaris called.

Ha turned over {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds} for a set of nines and Voulgaris mucked aces in disgust. He is now crippled to 4,200.

Garner Movin' On Up

Mark Garner and David Rheem have been locked in battle all afternoon. The latest skirmish found Garner and another player checking to Rheem on a flop of {9-Clubs} {J-Spades} {7-Diamonds} with 4,000 in the pot. Rheem bet 2,000, only to see Garner check-raise to 6,000. The player in-between the two of them called, but Rheem folded.

Garner bet 11,000 on the {4-Clubs} turn and was called. When the river fell {6-Spades}, he bet 100,000, which was finally enough to fold his opponent. Garner flashed {J-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} as he raked the pot.

Garner now has 168,000.
