A-K Unimproved? It's Good!

On a flop of {7-Spades} {3-Clubs} {2-Spades}, Ivan Demidov led out for 10,500 from the big blind and Johnny Chan flat-called. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn brought checks from both players, as did the {8-Clubs} on the river. Demidov turned up {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} and Chan mucked.

Demidov is currently just below his starting stack with 110,000 while Chan has slipped to 76,000.

Ship It to Vivek

Vivek Rajkumar and Dwyte Pilgrim just tangled in a hand that left Pilgrim nearly down to the felt.

On a flop of {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}, Pilgrim checked, Rajkumar bet 4,500 and Pilgrim called. The turn came the {2-Clubs} and this time Pilgrim led out for 4,500. Rajkumar came over the top for 17,000 and Pilgrim made the call. The river was the {2-Spades} and Pilgrim checked, opening the door for Rajkumar to bet 45,000. After a lengthy stint in the tank, Pilgrim called.

Rajkumar showed {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} for two pair with an ace kicker. Pilgrim flashed the {J-Spades} as he tossed his cards into the muck, his stack down to only 8,000.

After the hand, Rajkumar was riding high with 255,000.
