Luske Can't Find a Low

Omaha-8

From under the gun, a player limped and then Marcel "The Flying Dutchman" Luske raised. Chad Brown called from the big blind and the limper called as well. The flop was {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. Brown checked, the limper bet, and then Luske tossed in a raise. Brown called as did the original bettor.

The turn produced the {A-Hearts} and Brown checked. The next player fired a bet and Luske called. Brown ducked out of the way and action was heads-up to the river.

The river completed the board with the {K-Diamonds} and Luske called a bet from his opponent. Luske tabled {A-Clubs} {10-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} for two pair, but no low. His opponent showed {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} for a set of eights and scooped the pot.

Luske was left with 11,000 chips after the hand.

Grizzle Gets Chopped Up

Omaha-8

From under the gun, Sam Grizzle made the call and then Brett Richey raised. The player in the cutoff called and then Grizzle called.

The flop came down {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Hearts} and Grizzle checked. Richey bet, the cutoff seat called, and then Grizzle called. The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and the same action occured: Grizzle checked, Richey bet, both the cutoff and Grizzle called.

The river was the {8-Spades} and all players checked. Richey showed {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {6-Spades} {3-Clubs} for two pair, sixes and threes, and won the high. The cutoff seat showed {A-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds} for the nut low. Grizzle mucked.

Richey - 8,300
Grizzle - 4,000

Black Calls for the Clock

Andy Black wanted to know why the tournament clock isn't on the television over by his section. Rather, the NBA playoff game is on. Black requested that they change it, and the tournament staff looked at him and said, "You change it," knowing how mad people in the room will get if the game isn't on.

More Names and Some Chip Counts

Dutch Boyd, Nick Schulman, David "Chino" Rheem, and Eli Elezra are all seated at the same table for this event. Hasan Habib is in the room playing as well.

Here are some chip counts:

Vitaly Lunkin - 12,000
Vanessa Rousso - 11,000
Bryan Micon - 8,200
James "Mig.com" Mackey - 8,000
Matt Vengrin - 7,000

Where's the Game At?

Many of the players are wondering why there aren't televisions set up around the room for the viewing of the NBA playoffs. Last year, the tournament staff set up extra televisions next to each tournament clock that had the games on them. We're in the Brasilia room and there's only one television in the room displaying the game.

Mike "The Mouth" Matusow was just overheard chatting with Jerry Buss about the game and then he wandered over to check out the score a little bit after that. When he came back to his seat he said, "I took the completely wrong side of that one. I took Orlando and the under in the first half."

"What's the score?" asked Barry Greenstein.

"Twelve to nine, Lakers," Matusow responded.
