Eric Froehlich Gets Flushed

Eric Froehlich
Eric Froehlich
In a multi-way pot, Eric Froehlich bet 1,000 on a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} and got called by Ayaz Mahmood.

The two went to the turn heads up where Froehlich bet another 3,000 on the {2-Diamonds} and Mahmood raised 4,000 more. Froehlich made the call, putting himself all in.

Froehlich: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Mahmood: {K-Spades}{A-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Froehlich was looking to hit his diamond flush while Mahmood wanted his spade flush, which came with the {2-Spades} on the river.

Also recently eliminated from today's play are Gavin Smith, Robert Mizrachi, David Williams, Mike Sexton, Jon Van Halle and Jesper Hougaard.

One Champ to Another

Phil Ivey slipped into a seat in today's tournament shortly after collecting career bracelet number seven.

When Phil Hellmuth spotted Ivey at a nearby table, he walked up to offer his congratulations. "Aren't you setting the bar a little high kid?" Hellmuth asked while shaking his hand.

Hellmuth Takes Out Two

The player under-the-gun raised to 2,800 and got two callers, including Phil Hellmuth from middle position.

When the flop came {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, the under-the-gun bettor moved all in and again got called in two places.

Hellmuth: {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Under-the-Gun: {8-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Opponent 2: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

When the board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Hellmuth had turned two pair, which was enough to take the pot and boost his stack to 42,000.

Breaking Again

Level three has now ended and players are cashing in their remaining add on chips. Players are on a 20-minute break while this process is completed.

One player who isn't in need of any additional chips right now is Jesse Rios, who has built his starting stack up to 78,000 in just a few hours of play, making him the runaway chip leader at this point.

Burt Boutin Busted

A flop of {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} led to the end of Burt Boutin's day after he got all in against Vivek Rajkumar.

Boutin: {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Rajkumar: {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

With Boutin looking for a double gutter and Rajkumar looking for the wrap, the {J-Clubs} fell on fourth street, giving Rajkumar two pair, which held up when the {K-Spades} spiked on the river.

Boutin left the table while Rajkumar stacked up 10,100 in addition to his two add-on chips.

Farha Doubles

A flop of {5-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} was good enough to get Sammy Farha and his opponent to ship their chips into the middle.

Farha: {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

While Farha was behind his opponent's trip fives, he did hold the wrap, but hit his flush when the board finished with the {9-Spades} and {6-Spades}.

When the hand was over, Farha racked up 18,700 in chips and still had one add on available.
