Junglen Gets Eliminated

Adam Junglen
Adam Junglen
Adam Junglen got in a war he couldn't win. When Junglen raised to 1,200 from the cutoff, David Fox quickly potted, making it 5,600 to play.

Junglen re-potted and the Fox re-potted again, putting himself all in. Junglen made the call and saw the bad news.

Junglen: {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Button: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Both players hit sets on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Spades}, but Junglen could improve no more as the turn and river brought the {9-Clubs} and {J-Diamonds}.

Fox now has 75,000.

Trip Fives Work for Heimiller

When the player in the cutoff bet 1,200 on a flop of {2-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Dan Heimiller quickly raised to 4,000 from the small blind. Barry Shulman called behind, and the bettor folded.

Heimiller and Shulman then checked down the {J-Spades} on the turn and the {K-Hearts} on the river. When Heimiller showed {5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, Shulman mucked and Heimiller took the small pot.

Heimiller now has 44,500 while Shulman has 10,000.

Ivey Knocks off Two

All the action happened preflop as the player under-the-gun raised all in for 2,000 and the small blind raised pot to 4,800 from the small blind. Phil Ivey re-potted, making it 11,200 and Tomchenko shoved. When Ivey called, we saw the hands.

UTG: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Small Blind: {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Ivey: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The flop of {2-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Spades} kept Ivey in the lead and gave him a flush draw. The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and a flush draw for the small blind, but the {A-Hearts} on the river fell Ivey's way.

Ivey now has 36,500.

Hellmuth Gives Up Chips

Phil Hellmuth bet 2,600 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, which was enough to put his opponent all in. When the call was made, the hands were shown.

Hellmuth: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

When Hellmuth couldn't catch a king, queen or diamond on the turn and river which brought the {5-Hearts} and {9-Clubs}, the aces held and Hellmuth's stack shrunk to 7,600.

Eights are Enough for Chiu

David Chiu limped into the pot from middle position, as did Phil Hellmuth and the button. The small blind folded and the big blind checked before a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Action checked around and Chiu led out for 1,300 when the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn. Hellmuth and the button folded, and the big blind made the call, taking us to the river and the {4-Spades}. When both players checked, the big blind showed {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, but got notched when Chiu showed {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Notable Stacks

Jesse Rios remains our chip leader with 110,000 chips amassed so far.

Most other stacks are way behind, with players like J.C. Tran and John Juanda much closer to the average with 46,000 and 47,500 respectively.

Down Two

Two more pros no longer playing today's event are Jared Hamby and Jeff Lisandro, who both got knocked out a short while ago.

Tens are Good for Junglen

After Adam Junglen raised to 1,650 from the button, the small blind reraised to 5,600. Junglen called and we went to the flop heads up, where the small blind bet all in for 5,575 on a board reading {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Junglen tanked for nearly a minute before making the call and showing {10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for middle set. His opponent held {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and couldn't hit any of his 15 outs when the turn and river brought the {4-Clubs} and {6-Spades}.

Junglen now has 33,700 in chips.
