Kim Finds Aces; Edler Suspects Nothing

Steve Kim is having a marvelous time of it. After earlier taking down that monster six-way pot, he's just taken a hefty one off of Bill Edler too.

Kim raised under the gun and Edler reraised. A four-bet from Kim, a call from Edler and they saw a {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {Q-Hearts} flop.

Kim bet out and Edler called, but Edler turned up the aggression on the {3-Clubs} turn. When Kim bet again, Edler raised, and he flatted when Kim reraised him.

Kim bet out again on the {9-Diamonds} river and Edler just called -- but mucked when Kim showed him {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. Yikes.

Juanda Arrives

The empty stack that has been blinded down all day without an owner has just been claimed. John Juanda has raced over here during the break of the PLO event to find that his original starting stack is down to just 13,000 and change. While he'd love to "do a Phil Ivey" and run his stack up to 100,000 with a few adventurous all-in moves, unfortunately this is Limit Hold'em so the best he'll be able to achieve in a few short minutes is to grind his stack back a little in the right direction.

At His Witteles' End

Todd Witteles moved to Phil Hellmuth's former table -- and promptly doubled up first hand there when his pocket jacks cracked pocket aces. Lucky man. He's up to 27,000.

Hellmuth Exits

Hellmuth Out
Hellmuth Out
The action folded to Phil Hellmuth on the button who gave his usual "raise it up", tossing 2,000 into the middle. The player in the big blind made the call and they took a flop of {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

The big blind checked and Hellmuth bet, before the big blind check-raised. Hellmuth only had 1,700 behind and committed them into the pot with his opponent making the call.

"I think you got me," said the 11-time bracelet winner, "I only have ace-queen". His opponent revealed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and river the {J-Clubs} and Hellmuth tossed his cards into the muck and made a hasty exit from the Brasilia Room.

Staying Alivey - Not Any More

Phil Ivey made a bit of a recovery and was back up as far as 16,000, but he couldn't keep it up when Liz Lieu found pocket queens and proceeded to make a full house. Ivey just mucked, and off he went, no bracelets richer today.

Gray Skies

Jason Gray battled valiantly with his short stack but eventually had to commit his final 800 chips preflop holding {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} but ran into the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} of an opponent.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Gray is sent to the rail.

Lindgren Not Happy

Erick Lindgren looked most irked after raising to a bet on the {J-Hearts} {3-Spades} {K-Clubs} flop, getting called, and then calling his opponent's bets on the {7-Spades} turn and {7-Diamonds} river. His opponent turned over {K-?} {Q-?}, Lindgren mucked and sighed, and is down to 19,000.
