Joe Tehan Bubbles

Joe Tehan= Bubble Boy
Joe Tehan= Bubble Boy
Farzad Rouhani (X)(X){2-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {J-Spades} (X)
Joe Tehan (X)(X) {5-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} (X)
Yan Chen (X)(X) {9-Spades} {J-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} (X)

Farzad Rouhani brought it in on third street, Joe Tehan called the bring-in, Yan Chen completed, and both Rouhani and Tehan called. Rouhani checked on fourth street, Tehan bet, Chen raised and both Rouhani and Tehan called. The action was checked to Chen on fifth, he bet, Rouhani called, and Tehan called all in. Rouhani check-called one more bet from Chen on sixth street and both players checked on seventh.

Chen turned up {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {8-Spades} for two pair queens and nines. Both Rouhani and Tehan mucked, Tehan hitting the rail in 17th place as the bubble boy.

Play is now paused to re-draw for seats on two tables.

A Million for Mosseri

Doyle Brunson (X)(X) {K-Hearts} {8-Spades} {10-Clubs} {5-Hearts} (X)
Abe Mosseri (X)(X) {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} (X)

Scotty Nguyen had the bring-in, Abe Mosseri completed, Doyle Brunson raised, Nguyen folded and Mosseri called. Brunson led out on fourth and fifth streets and Mosseri called. Mosseri led out after making an open pair of queens on sixth and Brunson called. Mosseri also bet seventh street and after a bit of a tank, Brunson tossed in another 20,000.

"Queens" said Mosseri, showing {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} in the hole for trips. Brunson mucked and Mosseri scooped the pot.

With that hand, Mosseri became the tournament's first million-chip man, with 1,050,000 in his stack. Brunson slipped to 320,000.

Tuan Le Eliminated

Tuan Le
Tuan Le
Call it the curse of the Day 1 chip leader, but Tuan Le, who held that title last night, is now out only two spots short of the money.

After the betting was capped between Le and Mike Wattel on third street, Le bet his last 1,000 chip on fourth and Wattel called. Le showed a pair of aces and a low draw, but Wattel had him for high with sixes and fours. Le couldn't catch a low card or another pair on seventh, the {9-Diamonds} falling to send him home in 18th place.

Wattel is now up to 210,000 and with 17 players remaining, play will proceed hand for hand until we burst the money bubble.

Lisandro Wins a Monster

Jeff Lisandro

Chen: (X-X) {Q-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {A-Clubs} (X)
Lisandro: (X-X) {3-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} (X)
Berman: (X-X) {2-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {2-Spades} {8-Diamonds} (X)

Lyle Berman was trapped in the betting tornado that was Yan Chen and Jeff Lisandro. The pot grew between the three players to over 600,000 chips. On seventh street, Berman finally opted to fold after facing another round of crazy betting action.

Chen began the hand with rolled up queens, but never improved to a full house. Lisandro turned up {A-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {4-?} for the wheel and the winning hand. He was able to scoop the entire pot and is now up to nearly 700,000 chips.

Perry Friedman: From 20K to 360K in 34 Minutes

Easy game
Easy game
John Hennigan was all in against Perry Friedman showing {6-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {K-Clubs}, his ace-high and draw to a 6-4 low actually leading as the seventh street cards were dealt. Friedman, however, made a pair of deuces on the end while Hennigan caught the {9-Diamonds}. The deuces were good enough to scoop, eliminating Hennigan and sending Friedman's stack up to 198,000.

Only a few hands later, Friedman check-called Mike Wattel's lead bets all the way to sixth street, but threw in a check-raise on seventh. A frustrated Wattel mucked his cards and Friedman took down the pot, his stack climbing to 307,000.

Two hands after that, Friedman again tangled with Wattel, making trip eights on sixth street. Wattel was forced to fold his aces. With that pot, Friedman is now on 360,000 in chips after being down to only 20,000 a little more than a half hour ago.

Andrzejewski's Goes Down, Up, and Then Out

Pawel Andrzejewski eliminated

Anthony Rivera was in a recent hand with Pawel Andrzejewski where he was betting the entire way. Andrzejewski was showing a pair of tens on board, but Rivera tabled two pair, queens and fives, at the end of the hand to scoop in the pot. Andrzejewski was left with about 6,000 chips.

On the next hand, Andrzejewski was all in with Scotty Nguyen and Abe Mosseri also in the hand. Andrzejewski was so short on chips that he was all in on third street. Scotty went on to make two pair, but lost to Mosseri's queen-high straight. The pot was plump and juicy, putting Mosseri over 600,000. Andrzejewski did make a low on the hand and doubled up.

A few moments later, Andrzejewski was all in again and against Rivera once more. Rivera was holding a pair of threes for most of the way against Andrzejewski's two pair. Rivera pulled a queen on seventh that made him queens and threes, which were better than Andrzejewski's two pair to eliminate him from the tournament.

Howard Lederer Eliminated

Sorry, Bub
Sorry, Bub
Howard Lederer ({K-Clubs})({3-Hearts}){3-Spades} {8-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} ({J-Hearts})
Yan Chen ({A-Diamonds})({8-Clubs}){8-Spades} {10-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} ({2-Spades})

Howard Lederer brought it in on third street, Joe Tehan completed with the {8-Diamonds}, Yan Chen raised, Lederer reraised, Tehan folded, Chen made it four bets, and Lederer called. On fourth street, Chen bet out and Lederer called all in.

Both boards were dealt out and Chen was the first to look at his down card on seventh street. He flipped up the {2-Spades} while Lederer squeezed his card. It was paint-- he could win with a queen or a king-- but it was the {J-Hearts} instead. Chen scooped the pot, eliminating Lederer just short of the money.

After the hand, Chen was up to 480,000 and is the current chip leader.
