Watch Out, Scotty's Got a Fresh Haircut!

Scotty Nguyen is still going strong in today's event. Since jumping to the chip lead a few hours ago, Nguyen has been able to maintain himself at the top of the pack. Scotty holds five bracelets including a Main Event win and a win in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship. To go along with those bracelets, Nguyen's also won two Omaha 8-or-better events and one pot-limit Omaha event, proving he's one of the best all-around players in the game.

Scotty's been having a good time here in this Stud-8 World Championship event and looking to add another bracelet to the mix. According to Scotty, his opponent's have a hard enough time with him when he doesn't have chips. Now that he is one of the biggest stacks in the room, everyone better watch out because Scotty's here to play, baby!

Mosseri Nice and Happy With 400K

Dan Heimiller bet seventh street into Abe Mosseri. Mosseri raised and then Heimiller called. There was over 200,000 chips in the pot. Mosseri tabled a nine-high straight and an eight-seven low to vault himself up to slightly over 400,000 chips.

This makes him especially happy due to all the cross booking he did with the likes of Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, and others.

Lyle Berman (X)(X) {3-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} (X)
Richard Anthony (X)(X) {5-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} (X)

Richard Anthony bet out on fourth street, Howard Lederer called all in and Lyle Berman called behind him. On fifth, Anthony led again and Berman called. Berman made the high board on sixth and checked, Anthony bet, and Berman called. Berman checked again on seventh street, Anthony bet 8,000 all in and Berman called.

First, Anthony and Berman showed down for the side pot. Anthony revealed {2-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} for a 7-5 low and a pair of deuces for high while Berman turned up {3-Spades} {6-Clubs} {5-Hearts} for a 7-6 low and a pair of threes for high. Anthony took the low side pot while Berman took the high side pot.

Next, Lederer showed down for the main pot, turning up {10-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {10-Spades}, his trip tens taking the main high pot. As Lederer had no low hand, Anthony also won the main low pot.

After the hand, Lederer was on 65,000 in chips, Anthony held 85,000, and Berman was still near the top of the pack with 405,000.

Rivera Loses a Lot

Anthony Rivera just took a big hit to his stack. He was driving the betting most of the way in a three-way pot between him, Pawel Andrzejewski, and Abe Mosseri. Andrzejewski was all in on fifth street.

At the end of the hand, Rivera and Mosseri chopped the side pot. Mosseri held a six-five low and Rivera held two pair. Rivera was cut out of the main pot though when Andrzejewski showed a spade flush that was good for the high half. He is now down to about 80,000 chips.
