YellowSub Doesn't Sink

Jeff 'YellowSub86' Williams has managed to escape from a big pair after reraising preflop to 2,650. The big blind made it around 12,000 with only 8,000 behind, putting the former EPT Monte Carlo champion to a decision. Williams asked his opponent if he would tell him later what he had if Williams folded.

"I'll show," came the reply.

Williams then folded what he said was a big pair and got shown {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}.

No Battle Left

After one double up Philippe Rouas was still only on 1,350 when he pushed again. He found callers in two spots before the flop came down {A-Spades} {7-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}.

The first player checked before the second one bet 2,500, forcing a fold. He then tabled {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} for a flopped set leaving Rouas' {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} in big trouble.

The turn {2-Clubs} offered hope but the {10-Spades} sealed his fate. He quickly hurried off to sweat his player, Noah Schwartz, who is down to the final ten players in the $40,000 NLH event.

Scissors Needed

Phillippe Rouas is sitting extremely short and in the big blind and that maybe the reason we had a five way limped pot. The flop came {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {2-Hearts}.

A player in mid position bet 1,300 and only Marco Traniello called before the turn came {2-Diamonds}. At this point both players committed the rest of their chips.

MP tabled {K-Hearts} {6-Hearts} to Traniello's {K-Spades} {J-Spades}. The river came {2-Spades} though meaning it was chop chop.

Anyone see the irony here?

Matusow Says No

Jason Mercier - Would probably play a $2 WSOP event too.
Jason Mercier - Would probably play a $2 WSOP event too.
Wandering around the rail, Mike Matusow spotted Jason Mercier, complimenting him on the fact that Mercier could bust the $40,000 event but still pick himself up for this $1,000 tournament.

"I could never do something like that..." admitted 'The Mouth'.

Falling Fast

With just minutes to go before dinner break we're down to less than 1,000 players. That means we have lost over two thirds of the field in six hours of play. That's some going and congratulations to the floor staff for keeping the tables balanced so well with the ludicrous rate of eliminations.
