Arieh In Front

Josh Arieh bets 4,000 on a board of {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {4-Spades} and Sammy Farha makes the call to get to see the {6-Hearts} river. Arieh now fires 7,500 and Farha makes the call, only to see the {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {9-Spades} {5-Clubs} of his opponent for the nut straight.

Arieh has 140,000 and looks to be one of the chip leaders at the moment. Farha has a less spectacular but still rather decent 43,000.

Wolfing Up More Chips

With the board reading {8-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} Roland de Wolfe lead out for a pot bet of 2,250 and found him called by Sandra Naujoks and a third player.

All three checked the {K-Spades} river and de Wolfe's {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} was good enough to win the whole pot as the other two players mucked.

Amnon Keeps Himself Entertained

How does a player entertain themselves in between poker hands? Well if you're Amnon Filippi you can choose between your iPhone, your Blackberry, your iPod or your iTouch.

At the moment he's gone for Chinese Poker on the iPhone. We're insanely jealous.

Ivey Takes a Hit

With the board reading {5-Spades} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} Phil Ivey calls an all in of about 13,000 with {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} against a big drawing {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. The river is the {Q-Diamonds} making the nut flush for the other player.

Ivey is down to 14,900.

Lunkin Good!

A Vital-y Win
A Vital-y Win
Vitaly Lunkin was all in with Brandon Adams and Daniel Makowsky calling with about 100,000 in the middle.

The flop was {J-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}, Makowsky moved in the remainder of his chips and Adams instantly called. All three players then flipped their cards:

Makowsky: {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Adams: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {7-Diamonds}
Lunkin: {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Spades}

Adams was ahead with top set but both other players had flush draws, Lunkin also had a wheel draw too.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} making the flushes for both pairs of aces and the river was the {9-Diamonds} which helped no-one.

Lunkin scooped the huge main pot, and Makowsky took a side pot leaving Brandon Adams crippled. Afterwards, it appeared Makowsky and Adams had words, both clearly upset over losing such a huge crucial pot at this stage.

Medic Busts Liu

In a flurry of post-flop action, four players committed their last chips into the middle on the flop, with Nenad Medic taking down the main pot making a full house with sevens full of fives.

The loser of the hand was Eric Liu who was sent to the rail, as Medic moves up to 72,000 chips.

Benyamine Busts; Matusow Offers Lessons

David Benyamine Eliminated
David Benyamine Eliminated
David Benyamine has hit the rail after his last chips were all in preflop.

Benyamine held {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{J-Spades} and found himself up against {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The board ran out {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, missing Benyamine and eliminating him from the tournament.

As he left the tournament area, Mike Matusow offered some words of encouragement, "Out already David? You should come over tomorrow. I'll teach you a little bit about this game!"
