Latimer Thinks Laterally

Adam Latimer had dropped a little, but is now back up to 950,000 after a curious hand against the curiously named Montagna Corrado.

They made it as far as the river of the {Q-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {A-Clubs} board when Corrado bet 80,000. Latimer disappeared into the tank for some minutes -- and then called. He turned over {Q-Clubs} {10-Hearts} -- and Corrado could only boast {K-?} {J-?} for king-high.

Corrado gave Latimer a look like he might come after him in the car park later; Latimer meanwhile blithely raked in the pot.

Sebok Doubles With Crazy Sweat

Michael Greco raised to 26,000 before Hieu Luu reraised to 86,000. Action folded around to Joe Sebok in the big blind and he moved all in for 258,000 total. Greco folded and the Luu tanked. He asked the dealer to bring the the 86,000 before tanking for a few more minutes. Eventually, he made the call.

Sebook tabled {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} and was up against Luu's {Q-Hearts} {7-Hearts}.

The flop came down {6-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} and a look of disgust came over Sebok's face. The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Sebok began to get up from his chair. He took his backpack off of the back of his chair and swung it over his shoulders. The dealer then dealt the {K-Hearts} on the river, nailing Sebok with a great card to stay alive and double up.

Sebook is now up to 550,000 while Luu dropped to 1.58 million.

Nichoel Peppe Doubles Up

After a flop of {10-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} Tom Lutz bet 300,000 from middle position and Nichoel Peppe moved all in from behind for 1,099,000. Lutz made the call making this a 2,660,000 pot.

Lutz: {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}
Peppe: {9-Clubs} {7-Clubs}

The board came all blanks as it filled out {10-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} {2-Spades} allowing Peppe's two pair to hold up.

Nichoel Peppe - 2,660,000
Tom Lutz - 1,160,000

Awerbuch Out

Chad Awerbuch had a nasty kings versus aces encounter to send him hurtling to the rail.

Eugene Katchalov, however, was the gent with the aces -- he's up to 2.1 million.

Markus Gonsalves Eliminated

Markus Gonsalves was all in before the flop, racing for his tournament life with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} against the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} of Tom Lutz.

The board came {Q-Spades} {7-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} giving Lutz the hand with a flush, sending Gonsalves to the rail.

New Chip Leader. Akenhead Breaches 3 Million Mark.

Aching To Get Ahead - James Akenhead
Aching To Get Ahead - James Akenhead
James Akenhead has doubled up to become the first player over 3 million chips.

Eracles Panayiotou raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Akenhead made it 80,000 from the small blind, Panayiotou called.

The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {3-Spades} and Akenhead bet 130,000, Panayiotou called and they saw a {8-Clubs} turn. Akenhead bet 190,000 and Panayiotou raised to 430,000.

Akenhead called this time before checking the {K-Clubs} river. Panayioutou set the Brit all in for his remaining 800,000 or so and Akenhead immediately called with the nuts, {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} for top set. Panayiotou's bluff with {6-Clubs} {4-Spades} was caught completely cold.

Minus One Tran

Jimmy Tran - Out
Jimmy Tran - Out
Jimmy Tran was all in for about 150,000 on a turned board showing {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {7-Spades}. Ian Woodley was the man trying to eliminate Jimmy, and he was looking poised to do just that as he tabled {J-Clubs} {8-Spades} for the straight. Tran couldn't believe his luck as he shook his head and turned over {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for the bad end of the straight. Drawing to a chop only, Tran saw the river bring the {2-Diamonds} and the end of his tournament.
