Rast Slips

When we reached his table, Brian Rast was already all in and his opponent was in the tank.

His opponent sat quietly for over a minute, riffling chips with his hand. Finally he called all in for his last 6,000 or so.

Rast tabled {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and his opponent opened {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Rast paired on the {J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop but still needed to improve. He did not with the {8-Diamonds} on the turn or the {7-Diamonds} on the river and slipped to 4,000 chips.

Mayrinck Back Up to 6k

When we got to her table Maria Mayrinck had all 3,000 of her chips in the middle and an opponent to her right had just made the call, putting her tournament life in jeopardy.

Mayrinck: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Mayrinck was good for a double up to 6,000

Edit: Moments after we reported this hand, Mayrinck flopped top set over an opponent's middle set and is now at 15,000.

Batista's Boat is Better

Over at Chad Batista's table a player in middle position had raised preflop to 600. The player to his immediate left raised to 1,800 from the hijack. When action folded to Batista in the small blind he went all in for about 24,000, having both players covered. The original raiser called, but the hijack folded.

Batista: {A-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Batista's opponent seemed happy with his call, saying "I'm happy to get it in with kings against an ace anytime." His happiness wouldn't last for long.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, pairing Batista's queen, but giving his opponent a set. When the {a-Diamonds} came on the river, Batista was still alive and drawing to a couple of outs. He found one when the {a-Spades} came on the river.

Immediately after the hand Batista said, "Thats the worst beat I ever put on anyone." He's now up to about 40,000 chips.

Oops

There was a situation on Table 19 moments ago that caught or attention.

A short-stacked player was all in with {q-}{4-} on a queen-high board and was at risk against a player with aces. Someone at the table pointed out that the dealer forgot to burn a card however, and the floor was called over.

The floor ruled that the dealer must wash the cards back into the deck and generate a new flop. The dealer did so, wrapped the table and delivered a new flop; {q-}{q-}{2-}.

What's even funnier is that the turn was a {4-} giving the player a full house. The river bricked with an {8-}, and the shorty doubled to 1,300.

Batista Loses Some Momentum

Chad Batista was in the big blind when he called a raise to 600 from a player in middle position. On a flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} there was some back and forth betting that resulted in his opponent's entire stack of about 4,500 getting in the middle.

Batista: {k-}{q-}
Opponent: {a-}{q-}

Batista was outkicked and failed to improve on the turn or the river. He looked frustrated with how the hand went down and left his chair. He's still doing ok, though. Right now he is sitting on a stack of about 24,500.

Vamo Brasil

With the board reading {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades}, Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck bet 650 and Jesse James raised to 2,500. Maridu moved all in for 4,300 and James made the call.

Showdown
Mayrinck: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
James: {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The {9-Diamonds} on the turn filled Maridu up and all James could hope for was a chop. A queen did not come on the river, rather it was the {4-Hearts} doubling Maridu to 9,500 chips.

James was left with only a few thousand and busted soon after.

Lind Trending Up

George Lind opened to 475 from the cutoff and a player in the small blind three-bet to 1,600. Lind made the call.

Both players checked the {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop and the {6-Diamonds} turn. The player in the big blind checked a third time after the {9-Spades} rivered and Lind bet 1,500. His opponent folded and he raked in the pot.

Lind is now up to 8,600 chips.

Every Chip Matters

The big stack over at Isaac Haxton's table had raised to 500 from middle position with Haxton following up with a three-bet to 1,500 in the cutoff. When action folded around to the original raiser he made the call.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} with Haxton's opponent checking. When Haxton fired in a bet of 1,500, his opponent tossed his cards away to end the hand.
