Gamboooool

Victor Nacim opened with a raise to 9,000 before an opponent moved all in over top. It was for most of Nacim's chips and he thought long and hard before making the call.

Nacim: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

It was certainly a gambling call by Nacim and it backfired when the board fell {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to pair up his opponent's jack. Nacim is down to just 12,000 chips.

Frank in Trouble

Dan Frank opened with a raise, and a player behind him shoved for 21,500 on top. Frank made the call with {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} to race against his opponent's {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The cards came out {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, giving Frank no help. He's in the danger zone now with 19,500.

MBN to be Rosenthal

Jaymes Rosenthal just keeps taking 'em out. When the small blind shoved into his big blind, Rosenthal snap-called with {k-}{k-}. The small blind had {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} but didn't get any help from the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board. Rosenthal is only a few chips shy of cracking 800,000 now.

Rosenthal Claims Another Victim

Jaymes Rosenthal
Jaymes Rosenthal

Jaymes Rosenthal raised to 9,500 from early position, and action folded around to the big blind. Marc Magazu defended to see the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop. Magazu bet out 25,000, and Rosenthal pushed all in with his mega stack. Magazu called all in with {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and needed to hit a club to stay alive against Rosenthal's {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The turn and river bricked off the {q-Hearts} and {j-Hearts}, sending Magazu packing and giving Rosenthal even more chips. He's got a towering 740,000 at the moment.

Another Pay Jump

The field is down to double digits and now that we are down to our final 90 players, it means they have reached another pay jump.

All players are now guaranteed a collect of $3,966, which is not too shabby for a $1,000 investment. Of course, the big bucks are still to come! Full prize pool information can be found on the Payouts tab.

Extra! Extra! Hurst Gets Rich

Gary Hurst checked a {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop from the big blind, and his opponent bet 12,500. Hurst check-raised to 30,000, and the other player moved all in. Hurst was happy to call all in with his last 64,000 since he'd flopped a set with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. His opponent was much less happy when he saw his {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} were no good. The {10-Clubs} turn and {5-Spades} river doubled Hurst to 215,000.

Chamberlain Mixes It Up

Holger Kanisch opened with a raise to 8,500 before Dan Chamberlain popped it to 20,000 on the button. Kanisch decided to make the call and they took a flop of {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Kanisch checked to Chamberlain who tossed out a rather tiny 4,500 chips. Kanisch responded with a check-raise to 21,000 with Chamberlain making the call.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and Kanisch led out for 28,000. Again Chamberlain made the call. The river brought the {A-Hearts} and Kanisch decided to slow down as he checked it over to Chamberlain who again bet small, this time just 20,000. It was enough as Kanisch released and Chamberlain took down a rather strange hand. He's up to 270,000 chips.

Kelly Caughs Up Some Chips

Robert Caughie raised to 10,000 under the gun, and Kevin Kelly moved all in. It folded back around to Caughie, who called with his last 21,000. Kelly rolled over {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} but was far, far behind Caughie's {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}. The {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs} board didn't change anything, and Caughie doubled up to 72,000. Kelly fell to 53,000.

Game On!

The players are back and the cards are once again in the air.

There's plenty of speculation and debate over how long play will continue this evening. Earlier the TDs informed us that we'll be playing until the end of Level 20, but now that we are down to just 99 players and this is scheduled as a four-day event, sticking around that long seems highly unlikely and rather unnecessary.

One or perhaps two more levels would seem to be the right amount, allowing us to return tomorrow for Day 3 with somewhere around 50-60 players left.

Once we receive official confirmation, you'll be the first to know.
