Bernard Lee On the Move

Foxwoods Poker Room Spokesperson Bernard Lee
Foxwoods Poker Room Spokesperson Bernard Lee

Bernard Lee has been on the move since dropping down to 2,000 chips entering the fourth level of play. He was able to win a race with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} versus pocket jacks after he flopped an ace. That doubled him back to 4,000 chips.

Then to start the next level, Lee picked up the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} in middle position and raised to 550. The big blind called and the flop came {10-}{9-}{3-}. The big blind moved all in and Lee made the call. He was ahead and in very good shape against his opponent's {A-}{10-}. The turn and river blanked off and Lee was pushed the pot. He's now got about 7,000 chips in his stack.

Racing Ahead

Also just before the break, John Racener found himself all in in a great spot with pocket kings against an opponent's pocket queens. No more ladies appeared on the board, and Racener duly doubled to around 9,000.

Ingles Stack Shorr'd Up

Just before the break, Shannon Shorr saw a {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} flop heads up with Jared Ingles. INgles bet out, and then called the raise to 1,350 from Shorr. Interesting.

The turn came down the {k-Spades} and this time Ingles checked. Shorr bet 950, and Ingles now moved all in. Shorr snap called.

Ingles: {j-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for trips
Shorr: {k-Clubs} {k-Hearts} for an unbeatable-looking full house

Unbeatable? Nah.

River: {8-Hearts}

With some extremely lucky quads, Ingles doubled up to 9,500. Shorr meanwhile was in no immediate danger - he was left with a still very healthy 13,000.

Jonathan Little -- 8,500

Level: 5

Ante: 0

Break Time #2

The players who have made it through four levels are heading out for their second scheduled break of the day. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, and can find the smoking area!

Fricke Ticking Along Nicely

Jimmy Fricke check-called a 1,000 bet from his opponent on the turn of an {a-Hearts} {q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} board; both players checked the {4-Clubs} river. The bettor confidently turned over {a-Clubs} {10-Clubs}, but made a little, "Tchhh," noise as if to say, "Just my luck," when Fricke turned over {a-Spades} {j-Hearts} to take the pot.

Fricke is now a force to be reckoned with on over 20,000.

Schoenberg in Trouble

Erica Schoenberg is teetering on the brink of Busto Canyon after her pocket kings fell short of Maris Smilga's {q-Spades} {j-Hearts} on a {q-Hearts} {j-Spades} {4-Hearts} X X board.

Left with just 850 chips, she moved in under the gun the very next hand and following a reshove from a player in mid position, the cards were on their backs.

Schoenberg: {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds}
Gentleman reshover: {j-Spades} {j-Clubs}

Board: {9-Hearts} bink! {5-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {k-Hearts}

Schoenberg was pulled back from the edge, but on just 2,000 after the double up, she is still perilously close to the tournament abyss.

Medic on the Alert

Nenad Medic
Nenad Medic

The table folded around to Nenad Medic who completed in the small blind, and the big blind checked his option. Pot 300.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Medic bet 200, and his opponent raised to 550. Medic contemplated for a minute, then stacked up a bunch of green 25-chips and pushed them forward to make the call.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and both checked. The river then brought the {4-Diamonds}. Medic checked again, and his opponent tossed his lone yellow 1,000-chip in the middle, leaving himself just 700 or so behind. Medic only had about 1,300 left himself, and went deep into the tank. He rechecked his cards, then finally made the call.

Both players showed their hands at approximately the same time -- Medic {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and his opponent {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}. The call was a good one, and Medic now is back up to about 3,500.
