Vedes Vanquished

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Facing a raise to 6,500 from middle position, Tommy Vedes pushed all in from the hi-jack for 25,500. The preflop raiser paused slightly before making the call to put the WPT Champion at risk.

Vedes: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Unfortunately for Vedes, he would be unable to survive this race as the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts} board was spread to end his tournament just shy of the money.

Lee Can't Pull the Trigger

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

When we caught up with the action, the big blind player bet 13,500 into Bernard Lee on a flop showing {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Lee asked his opponent how much he had left and made the call.

The turn brought a {4-Spades} and Lee's opponent fired again for 19,500, sending Lee deep into the tank. Lee cut out what looked like a raise to approximately 70,000 and riffled his chips for quite some time before eventually mucking.

"Nice hand," Lee said, who currently stands at 160,000.

Schulman Slips

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Nick Schulman has just doubled up an opponent after a preflop clash.

Schulman: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

With Schulman seeing 53,000 of his chips enter the pot, the {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board wasn't a favorable one as he was left with just 26,000 in chips.

The remaining players are taking a 15-minute break as the tournament staff conduct a race-off of all the black 100-denomination chips.

Staudenmaier Tackles Potter

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Luke Staudenmaier entered the pot for 6,000 and Jason Potter three-bet the small blind to 17,200. Staudenmaier made the call, and when the flop landed {8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, Potter checked.

Staudenmaier deliberated for a few moments before pushing out a bet of 16,500 which forced a fold from Potter as he slipped to 120,000 while Staudenmaier climbed to 175,000 in chips.

Montgomery Fires Away

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Scott Montgomery raised to 5,000 and change from middle position and found one caller in the cutoff.

Montgomery c-bet the flop {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to 7,500 and his opponent flatted.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Montgomery fired again for 14,000. Again, his opponent called.

When the {Q-Spades} river came, Montgomery counted out a bet of 26,000 and slid his fourth barrel into the middle. His opponent let out a long sigh and mucked his hand.

Montgomery is now up to 160,000.

Charania Slips

Mohsin Charania opened the pot from the hi-jack to 5,500 and was met with two callers; one from the cutoff and the big blind.

Charania fired out a continuation-bet of 12,500 on the {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop to force a fold from the cutoff before the player in the big blind started mulling over a decision.

After roughly ninety seconds, the big blind slid out two stacks of chips amounting to a raise of 32,500, which forced a near-insta muck from Charania as he sank below the 60,000-chip mark.
