The Young and the Eliminated

Justin Young

Justin Young was all in preflop for his last 1,550 holding {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, but was far behind the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} of his opponent. We'd like to say that Young got a good sweat out of it, but the board ran out an uneventful {Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

Young became one of the day's early eliminations.

The Last of the $1Ks

[user66118]

Welcome to the last $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event of the summer. Today's Day 1a field, which will be combined with tomorrow's Day 1b field, is set to be a massive one. PokerNews' coverage of this event will begin after the first break, or about 2:20 PM PT.

Last year, Marcel Vonk won the last of the $1,000 events and took home $570,960 for beating out a field of 3,844 players. Day 1a alone had 2,340 players, which is much the expectation today. While you wait for our coverage to start, check out the June 2nd update from our very own Sarah Grant. And yes, those are earings, not hula hoops.
