Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom Busts His First WSOP Event

Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom has just been eliminated from the tournament by the hands of Tommy Chen. Today marked the debut on the World Series of Poker for the online super stars who had already made his mark on the live tournament circuit when he won the PCA Super High Roller banking just over $1.2 million. Blom had beat Andy Bloch in the first round but couldn't continue his run as he just busted.

Chen told us he put Blom all in from the button and the Swede snap-called for his final 26,000 chips in the 1,000/2,000 level with {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. "I guess it's an unexploitable call, but I would never make it," Chen said about the move. Chen had {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and his hand held up.

Marchese Sends Barlow Home

Tom Marchese has just moved on to the third round beating Todd Barlow. Marchese was kind enough to share with us the details of the biggest pot and the final hand.

On the 400/800 level Marchese raised to 1,600 from the button and Barlow called. The flop came down {Q-}{7-}{5-} with two spades and Barlow check-called 2,000. The turn was an {8-} and Barlow checked to Marchese who bet 3,500 and his opponent moved all in for around 16,000 chips. Marchese called with {Q-}{Q-} and Barlow was drawing dead with {7-}{8-}.

In the final hand Barlow had just 8,600 chips remaining and was put all in by Marchese. Barlow called with {7-}{7-} and Marchese spiked a king with his {K-}{6-}. Marchese will play the winner of the match between Kevin Saul and Ryan Fee.

Seidel Saunters Off

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

A short stacked Erik Seidel moved all in for around 7,900 on the button. Seidel's opponent Sam Stein took a few moments deciding what the right move, he even pump faked calling a few times, before eventually depositing the right amount of chips in the pot.

Seidel: {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Stein: {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The dealer then spread a {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} board and Seidel was eliminated. Sam Stein will now go on to face winner of the Steven Greenberg vs. Jason Mo match.

Negreanu Takes The Lead

Level 19 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu just busted Faraz Jaka's first 20,000 stack in a pre flop all in. Jaka held {6-Spades}{8-Spades} against {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and the board ran out {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Jaka gave the dealer one of his lammers bringing his stack back up to 20,000. Negreanu now has 60,000 chips with one lammer behind, Jaka also has another lammer.

The 2009 Champ is Gone, Lacay Moves On

Leo Wolpert won the $10,000 World Series of Poker Heads Up Championship back in 2009 but this year he didn't get past the second round. Wolpert played top French pro Ludovic Lacay who finished 16th in the 2009 WSOP Main Event cashing $500,557. He also has two top three finishes in World Poker Tour events and two other WSOP final tables to his name.

Lacay told us he took an early lead which got erased when Wolpert won an all in with {K-}{3-} against {a-}{4-} for his last chips. After that Lacay was down some and raised from the button to 2,000 with {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Wolpert re-raised to 5,500 and Lacay called. The flop came down {K-}{Q-}{6-} with one diamond and Lacy called a 6,000 chip continuation bet. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and Wolpert bet 8,600. Lacay made it 22,000 and called all in for 30,000 total when Wolpert shoved on him.

Wolpert showed {Ks]{2-Spades} and needed to dodge quite some cards to win this match. Lacay hit the {7-Diamonds} on the river and doubled up putting him back in the lead. On the final hand Wolpert was all in for 19,000 chips with {3-}{3-} against the Frenchman's {5-}{5-} and Lacay's hand held up. Lacay will play the winner of the match between Amritraj Singh and Adam Ross.

Randy Loses

Alexander Venovski limped on the button. Randy Lew moved all in for just about 20,000 more and was immediately called. Lew was not in a good spot as Venocski held {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} while Lew possessed a much inferior {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Crazier things have happened and it was off to the flop.

{Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts} all made an appearance on the flop, which only put Lew in a deeper hole as he was not able to catch up. A {6-Spades} on the turn gave Lew and open ended straight draw. But the meaningless {k-Hearts} fell on the river and Lew was eliminated.
