Moorman Makes Big River Call

Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman opened to 17,000 in early position and was called by Steve Landfish in the cutoff.

A {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop hit the table and Moorman bet 23,000. Landfish popped it to 65,000, but Moorman called to see the {K-Diamonds} turn. A check from both players landed the {4-Clubs} on the river which Moorman checked. Landfish bet 75,000, sending Moorman into the tank for about two minutes.

"Call," said Moorman.

"Good call," replied Landfish.

Moorman tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, prompting Landfish to just shake his head while flashing the {A-Diamonds}.

Deeb in Trouble

Things are not going well for Shaun Deeb post-dinner.

We picked up the last pot on the turn of a {3-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} board. Ali Eslami was leading the betting with 17,000, and Deeb stuck in a raise that we couldn't count. Eslami responded by shoving all in for 128,000, and Deeb made the call with {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. His top pair was out-kicked, though, and Eslami's {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} had him poised for a double.

The river {A-Diamonds} did nothing to change the situation, and Deeb has been parted with another chunk. That loss moves him all the way down to 112,000, doubling Eslami up to 288,000 in the process.

Silverman Turned to Stone

Ryan Julius opened to 16,000 in early position, and the action folded around to the blinds. In the small, Steven Silverman thought he was the one opening the pot, and he made it 24,000. It ended up being a misclick mini-reraise, and Julius flatted to see the flop.

It came {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, and Silverman shoved the rest of his short stack in holding {Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. Julius made the call, and he was drawing for the knockout with his {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}.

Turn: {6-Hearts}

That ends things right there for Silverman. He spent a short while standing behind his chair after watching his chips pushed to his opponent, then shook his head and ducked out of the room.

Ladies and Gentlemen It's Hoyt Corkins

Hoyt Corkins
Hoyt Corkins

The action folded around to Hoyt Corkins in the hijack seat.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's Hoyt Corkins," said Antonio Esfandiari.

Corkins made the raise to 12,000.

"Look at this…Corkins has adjusted with the times…the old min-raise bulls&*t," said Esfandiari.

The action had stopped at Matt Marafioti in the small blind.

"The action is on you kid," laughed Esfandiari who has been ribbing Marafioti since dinner.

Marafioti folded and Esfandiari made the call from the big blind. The flop was the {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, Esfandiari bet 14,000 and Corkins called. The river card was the {2-Hearts} and Esfandiari bet 26,000 and once again Corkins called. Esfandiari turned over {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for king high and Corkins turned over {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} for ace high.

"So you are a non-believer," said Esfandiari.

"You have a bad rep," joked Corkins.

Senti Sent Off

Shaun Deeb opened with a raise to 16,000 before Jason Senti three-bet shoved for just about 30,000 total. When Deeb called, Senti was presented with some bad news.

Showdown
Deeb: {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}
Senti: {5-Spades} {5-Hearts}

Senti did manage to turn an extra two outs when the board showed {9-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {6-Spades} {8-Clubs}, but he could not find his straight. The {10-Hearts} river is the last of his day, and the former November Niner is out in 24th place.

Julius Doubles Through Deeb To Grab The Lead

Ryan Julius
Ryan Julius

Action folded to Ryan Julius in the small blind and he raised to 15,000. Shaun Deeb three-bet to 40,000 from the big blind, but Julius came right back over the top with a four-bet to about 80,000. Deeb five-bet, Julius six-bet shoved for 270,000, and Deeb called.

Julius: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Deeb: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Deeb needed an ace, but didn't find it as the board rolled out {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Table #447

We have been watching Table #447 for the past thirty-minutes and not a lot has happened. The most interesting thing about the table is the constant needle that Antonio Esfandiari is sticking into the ribs of Matt Marafioti for taking so long to make his decisions. Here is the action from the last thirty-minutes:

David Benyamine raised to 13,000 in first position and Daniel Weinman three-bet to 23,000 in the cutoff. Benyamine made the call and the pair went to the flop. The action checked through on a board of {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {K-Hearts} and Benyamine turned over {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} for the boat whilst Weinman had {9-} {9-}.

Esfandiari raised on the button and Benyamine defended his big blind. The flop was {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} and Benyamine took it down with a 46,000 check-raise after Esfandiari had tried to pinch it with a 16,000 c-bet.

Benyamine limped into the pot from the small blind and Mohsin Charania checked his option. The flop was {5-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Hearts} and Benyamine check-folded to a 9,000 Charania bet.

Charania raised to 13,000 in mid-position and Esfandiari defended the big blind. The flop was {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {6-Clubs} and both players checked. Moving onto the turn and we saw the {7-Spades} and Charania won the pot with a 14,000 bet.

Benyamine limped from the small blind and Charania checked his option. The flop was {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} {4-Hearts}, Benyamine bet 6,000 and Charania called. The turn was {8-Clubs} and the same action ensued; this time for 15,000. Finally we saw the {9-Clubs}, both players checked and Charania won the pot holding {A-Hearts} {6-Clubs}.

Deeb Dented

Shaun Deeb opened to 12,000 under the gun, and Patrick Cronin three-bet to 27,000 a couple seats over. Deeb flatted, and off they went.

The {K-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} brought a continuation bet of 25,000 from Cronin. Deeb check-called. The turn came the {9-Hearts}, and Deeb checked again. Cronin had 90,000 chips left, and he shoved them all in. Deeb double-checked his {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}, then made the call. His kicker was no good, though, as Cronin rolled over the {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. That's a full house, and Deeb has been relieved of a chunk of his chips. That pot knocks him back to 475,000, while Cronin doubles his way close to 300,000.
