Marchese Gets Bluffed

At Tom Marchese's table, there was a board showing {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Marchese had checked to one opponent who bet 5,000. Marchese then went into the tank for quite some time before saying, "okay," and folding his hand.

At this point Marchese's opponent slapped over {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a whole lot of nothing and Marchese looked a little disgusted.

Ivey Inching Upward

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

We caught up with the action on a {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop, where Phil Ivey was in a three-handed pot.

The first player to act in the hijack checked to the player in the cutoff, who fired 4,000. Ivey called from the button and the player in the hijack folded.

Both remaining players checked the {4-Clubs} turn, however, when Ivey's opponent checked the {3-Spades} river, Ivey fired 6,000 into the middle. His opponent didn't take long to call and Ivey tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for aces and tens with a queen kicker. Ivey's opponent dejectedly showed {A-}{9-} and mucked.

Ivey is up to 40,000.

Double Up For Seed

We caught up just as Seed was scooping a sizable pot. Apparently he had gotten all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} against a lone opponent's {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The board held for Seed and he doubled through his opponent to 20,500.

Chan Wins Some Late

When we arrived at Terrence Chan's table, he was busy opening up the pot to 2,000 on the button. The small blind then three-bet to 5,500 and after some thought, Chan made the call.

On the {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop, both players checked and the {10-Clubs} was dealt on the turn. The small blind again checked and this time Chan bet 6,000. That was too much for his opponent as Chan raked in some new chips.
