Say Adios to Affleck

We caught up to find Matt Affleck all in before the flop holding {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} but was crushed by his opponent's {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

Affleck was looking for a nine on the flop but instead was presented with {3-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Affleck needed one of the two remaining nines to stay alive.

The river was four-across, but unfortunately for Affleck it was the {10-Clubs}, which sealed his elimination from the tournament.

Dannenmann Dusts One

A short-stacked player moved all in for a little over 20,000 and action folded to 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up Steve Dannenmann who moved all in over top. The rest of the table folded and the hands were revealed to find that Dannenmann was out in the lead.

Dannenmann: {A-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The board fell {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Dannenmann's ace-king high was able to hold, sending his opponent packing.

Jivkov Fires...A Compliment

Nick Jivkov raised to 5,500 from under the gun and was called by the player on the button.

The two saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and Jivkov continued out with a bet of 6,700. His opponent asked if Jivkov had any orange t5,000 chips and Jivkov replied with a no. After some pondering, his opponent mucked his hand and Jivkov was able to drag the pot.

As he was stacking his newly found chips, Jivkov said to his opponent "I like your watch"

"Thank you," his opponent replied.

"I like your muck too. I didn't want you shoving me in there," said Jivkov. Jivkov is currently sitting on a stack of 72,000.

Brecher Bricks; Eliminated

We caught up with the action on a {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board in a three-way pot between Max Steinberg, Steve Brecher and another opponent.

Brecher checked from the big blind, as did Steinberg. The player in middle position fired 10,200 into the middle. Action was back on Brecher, who fell deep into the tank. He eventually announced he was all in for his last 36,000. Steinberg got out of the way Brecher's opponent called to put him at risk.

Brecher: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a flush draw.
Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sixes.

The {9-Clubs} river bricked for Brecher and he was eliminated.
