Welcome to Day 1 of Event #6 $5,000 The Mixed Max No-Limit Hold'em

Good morning and welcome to Event #6, the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Mixed-Max tourament. This is the first mixed-max event to be held in the WSOP in Las Vegas, but the event did make it's debut in the WSOPE in Cannes last year. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi defeated Shawn Buchanan heads up to take down the split-format bracelet. In fact, despite being on French soil, there were no fewer than seven players from this side of the water in the top ten, including Noah Schwartz, Dan Fleyshman, Brian Powell, Brian Hastings and Jason Mercier.

For those of you not familiar with the mixed-max format let's bring you up to speed. This is a 4-day event and each day will consist of a different variation of no-limit Hold'em. Day 1, which begins in around sixty-minutes time, will consist of regular nine-handed tournament play. We are expected to play ten or 11 one-hour levels with a ninety-minute dinner break after Level 6. Then on Day 2 the format switches to Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em before Day 3 introduces Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em action.

The action starts at 12:00 in the Brasilia room or alternatively you can catch all of the days stories right here at Pokernews.
